The 14 Most Evil Things Doflamingo and Crocodile Did in One Piece

The extensive history of One Piece introduced a fantastic array of supervillains and other antagonists.

At first, Monkey D. Luffy thought that villains like Captain Kuro and Don Krieg in the East Blue Saga were the worst of the worst, but then Luffy and his friends arrived at the Grand Line, where all the true villains resided. This included the likes of Sir Crocodile, Donquixote Doflamingo, and many more.

Sir Crocodile, also known as Mr. 0, was Luffy's first major villain in the Grand Line, and defeating him was a monumental achievement for Luffy at the time. Later, Doflamingo loomed over the Straw Hat crew as the flamboyant and cruel leader of the kingdom of Dressrosa.

Like Crocodile before him, Doflamingo nearly ruined an entire island and only lost to Luffy after a bitter and prolonged fight that nearly cost Luffy his life. It's no wonder that these two One Piece villains still stand out as two of the best in the series, along with their long list of crimes.

14. Doflamingo: Doffy and Viola

What did Doflamingo do to Viola in One Piece, some fans wonder? According to manga author Eiichiro Oda, Doflamingo and Viola shared a “romantic” relationship.

That said, given Viola's identity, it's highly unlikely that it was consensual. This is one of the instances where One Piece has displayed its underlying darkness, though the gruesome details were wisely left to the imagination and not explicitly shown.

Many fans didn't notice, but those who did were undoubtedly disturbed. As author Eiichiro Oda himself stated, "The nature of their relationship was too hardcore for Shonen Magazine." Doflamingo did a lot of terrible things to the Riku family, and this is the most twisted of all.

13. Crocodile: Kidnapping

Sir Crocodile is the kind of man who will stop at nothing to achieve his goals, and naturally, a “petty” crime like kidnapping was not outside the scope of Crocodile and his syndicate’s practices.

Capturing your enemies was just another step you took during your quest to find the Poneglyph in Alubarna.

One example of this was, in order to fuel the public's fury, Crocodile kidnapped Cobra, the king of Alabasta, and exchanged him for a double under his command.

This kidnapping also served to further destabilize an already fragmented kingdom, pushing it to its absolute limit as Nefeltari Vivi watched in horror.

12. Doflamingo: Manipulation and Blackmail

Doflamingo pulled the strings, both literally and figuratively, of many incidents that caused major ripples in the world of One Piece., all from the comfort of your throne.

Manipulation is just one of the many quirks of Doflamingo's character.

Furthermore, as the undisputed king of the underworld, the influence he could exert at any given time was immense, to say the least.

He still has blackmail letters against the World Government, further proof of his terror.

11. Crocodile: manipulating an entire nation

Even a Warlord of the Sea like Sir Crocodile can't just march into a kingdom and single-handedly kill all his enemies there.

Instead, the cunning Crocodile took the right measures to destabilize and confuse the entire Kingdom of Alabasta from within, which included provoking a rebellion and manipulating the rebels.

The people of Alabasta were convinced that they had become their own worst enemies, completely unaware that Sir Crocodile was pulling all the strings.

It's true that Doflamingo has a "puppet master" theme with his String-String Fruit, but before he was introduced, Crocodile was One Piece The best antagonist of the puppet master.

10. Doflamingo: His Evil Regime

To the unfamiliar tourist, Dressrosa may seem like a land of abundant happiness and color, and even fans thought so when the kingdom was first introduced.

However, this New World island was a twisted and unforgiving place, befitting Doflamingo's ruthless personality.

The entire country was a showcase for Doflamingo's inhumane acts, and worst of all, the common people were unaware of it.

They did not cower in fear – instead, the common people were made to forget that the dissidents ever existed, eliminating the rebels in more than just the physical sense.

They were also erased from people's hearts and memories, all because of Doflamingo's draconian rules.

9. Crocodile: Mass Murder

Even if Sir Crocodile didn't personally kill everyone who died because of him, the body count is still staggering, and all of those people would still be alive if it weren't for him.

Over the years, thousands of people have died because of Crocodile's plans, especially in the Kingdom of Alabasta itself.

Every person who died in the bloody civil war has Crocodile to blame, not One Piece fan can forgive Crocodile for this.

He also allowed his enemies to pointlessly end their own lives, such as when he sat at a safe distance and let his elite enemies die from their own strength-enhancing drugs.

Crocodile didn't even let them die fighting for their king – he watched as they died for nothing.

8. Doflamingo: More mass murder

So

as separated from life as Crocodile was, his body count was, in all likelihood, only a fraction of Doflamingo's body count.

Doflamingo's apathy is one that cannot be described by words. He has killed so often that he has stopped feeling anything about it.

An example of his tyranny was how he executed eight cities worth of lives just to prove a point, showing that there is no end to his depravity as a Warlord of the Sea.

Away from the Marines' prying eyes, Doflamingo acted far worse than any of the other pirates he was supposed to fight on the Marines' behalf, a cruel irony that helped set the tone for the New World.

7. Crocodile: How he treated everyone like pawns

As a master manipulator, Crocodile had no regard for anyone – not even his subordinates.

Everyone under him was just a pawn; once their potential was exhausted, he would not hesitate to get rid of them.

In contrast, even the ruthless, cold-blooded Donquixote Doflamingo had positive feelings towards his “family”.

Crocodile, however, saw everyone, even his hand-picked elite officers, as mere tools to use and throw away as needed.

He had no sentimental attachments to anyone, making Baroque Works the opposite of a found family.

6. Doflamingo: Human Auction House

Doflamingo owns many businesses that openly violate human rights, and the Human Auction House is at the forefront of this business.

The Human Auction House is a place where living, sentient beings are sold as slaves. Humans, fishmen, and giants were all bought and sold as property there. This tied Doflamingo into one of the One Piece The darker but essential themes that people of different types sometimes dehumanize each other to commit all kinds of atrocities.

Many factions or races view everyone else as a dangerous or inferior "other", and Doflamingo's Auction House was a frightening example.

5. Crocodile: Delivered a widespread drought to his goals

Struggles for power are nothing new in the world of One Piece. Many individuals have attempted to invade island kingdoms in order to gain control of them, but what sets Crocodile apart from his peers is the method he used.

Crocodile organized a massive drought that left many citizens dead and even more starving, all because of his aspirations.

Crocodile used Arabasta's climate against its people with a brutal drought, creating an enemy that no sword or cannon could defeat. Countless people suffered, dying of thirst or being forced to relocate as the armed drought spread across an already arid desert kingdom.

4. Doflamingo: Selling Smile Fruits to Kaido

Not all of Doflamingo's worst crimes were committed by his own hands. He is also complicit in a variety of shocking and depraved acts, including his constant sale of Smile Fruits to the isolated nation of Wano.

Doflamingo and his subordinates, including Caesar Clown, created artificial Devil Fruits that make people smile and laugh if they don't have an effect, like Toko.

Some One Piece fans can see the parallel between this and Joker from Batman in the comics, although that's not all. Doflamingo is helping Kaido create an army of bandits to set the entire world on fire with war, all with an army of minions empowered by the Smile Fruit.

Luffy and his friends encountered and fought these Smile Fruit users in the Wano arc.

3. Crocodile: Trying to Feed His Enemies to Banana Gators

Some of Sir Crocodile's most vile crimes injured hundreds or even thousands of people at a time, while some of his other acts were more intimate.

At one point in the Alabasta arc, Crocodile captured a handful of his enemies, including Luffy and even Captain Smoker, and held them in a Sea Prism cage.

This was not enough for Crocodile, who wanted the pleasure of feeding his enemies a handful of huge, hungry banana alligators.

This almost made Crocodile a James Bond villain, using style over substance to kill his enemies without haste.

Fortunately, Luffy and his friends used a key from Mr. 3's Wax-Wax Fruit to escape their doom.

2. Doflamingo: Patricide

In the middle of the Dressrosa saga, One Piece The anime provided extensive flashbacks of the Donquixote family to explain how they became the way they are.

Doflamingo's backstory didn't make him sympathetic, even when he was a suffering child, but it showed why he became a brutal tyrant.

Doflamingo's family were Celestial Dragons who could have lived in luxury and comfort forever, but his father, Homing, decided to adopt a more humble lifestyle. Homing had good intentions, but Doflamingo could not accept this and blamed his father for the family's hardships.

So he shot his own father, not One Piece fan can forgive him for that.

1. Crocodile: Betrayed and almost killed Nico Robin

For a time, the woman known as Mrs. All-Sunday appeared to be Sir Crocodile's most trusted and respected lieutenant, being his own partner in the Baroque Works organization.

Crocodile made sure to escort Ms. All-Sunday/Nico Robin under Alubarna's palace to read the Poneglyph, only to realize that the Poneglyph did no describe Pluton at all.

Crocodile quickly showed his true colors, turning on Nico Robin the moment she ceased to be of use to him.

Nico Robin was prepared with a vial of water and her own Hana Hana no Mi, but Crocodile was faster and deadlier, and he dealt a killing blow to her.

He also revealed that he had never trusted her, much less his other agents.
