During the event Aniplex Online Festival A new promotional video has been revealed for the second season of the anime adaptation of the light novels written by Keiichi Sigsawa and illustrated by Kougaku Kuroboshi“Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online“. The video confirms that the premiere is set for October 4 in Japan and shows a fragment of the opening theme titled “GG” and interpreted by ReoNa.

Synopsis of Alternative Sword Art Online: Gun Gale Online

Dressed in desert pink and the size of a child, the infamous “Pink Devil” mercilessly hunts other players in the gun-centric world of the virtual reality game Gun Gale Online. But in real life, this feared player killer isn’t exactly who one would expect. Karen Kohiruimaki, a shy college student from Tokyo, is a stark contrast to her in-game avatar; in fact, he towers over everyone else, much to her dismay. Karen towers over everyone around her, and her insecurity about her height leads her to turn to the virtual world as an escape.

She starts one game after another in the hopes of manifesting herself as a short, pretty character and finally achieving her ideal in the world of Gun Gale Online. Enchanted by her new persona, she throws herself into the game as LLENN, earning a reputation as a legendary player killer. However, when one of LLENN’s targets gets the better of her, she ends up meeting Pitohui, a skilled but eccentric woman. Pitohui quickly befriends Karen and insists that LLENN participate in Squad Jam, a battle royale where teams face off until only one remains. LLENN must fight with all her ingenuity and will if she wants to reach the top.
