The author Tomoki Izumi shared an update on Twitter after receiving numerous inquiries about whether his manga “Mieruko-chan” is already finished. Izumi wrote: «Many people seem to think that 'Mieruko-chan' is over, I wonder why. Investigating, I found out that Google shuts it down for no reason».

“Mieruko-chan” is still in active serialization and is indeed on an impactful narrative arc today. The story follows Miko Yotsuya, a high school student who can see monsters and spirits that others cannot. Although she tries to ignore these visions to lead a normal life, she finds herself drawn into increasingly dangerous and supernatural situations.

The manga gained popularity for its unique blend of horror and comedy, as well as the charismatic main character, Miko. Izumi’s ability to blend moments of terror with touches of humor resonated with readers, making “Mieruko-chan” a thrilling and often surprising read.

In addition to the manga, the series also had an anime adaptation that premiered three years ago. Despite the positive reception, fans were waiting for news about a second season, which has not yet been announced. Doubts about the continuation of the anime have arisen again among fans after confusion about the status of the series on Google.

Izumi did not comment on a second season of the anime in her latest update, but fans continue to show interest and support for both the manga and the animated adaptation. Meanwhile, the “Mieruko-chan” manga continues to captivate readers with its unique atmosphere and unexpected twists, proving to be a work that continues to capture the imagination of fans of the supernatural genre.

  • «This is really a horror story».
  • «Imagine Google surrounded by spirits asking 'Mieruko-chan? Is it over yet?'».
  • «Is it because of the band saying 'Finished' in the Ichijo Michiru arc?».
  • «Before, in the store I managed, I thought that there were few customers only on certain days, but Google Maps showed the store as “Closed”. Isn’t that commercial interference?».
  • «The AI may have misinterpreted Michiru's arc as an ending».
  • «Google-san, when are you going to stop showing me that businesses are closed when they're not? 😅».
  • «Not only here, but when you search for something, the suggestions include negative words like 'boring', 'closed', 'cancelled', etc. Why do so many negative words appear? Sometimes it makes me uncomfortable, so I'd rather they didn't do that.».
  • «What did Google actually see?».
  • «What the hell did Google-chan see?».
