BBC iPlayer launches 24/7 Pokémon streaming channel

The BBC has revealed a new Pokémonthemed live streaming channel on its video on demand service, BBC iPlayer.

This dedicated channel will offer uninterrupted, 24/7 live streaming of Pokémon anime, and will broadcast over 600 episodes, which is approximately half of all Pokémon anime library.

Included in the lineup is the original series, which follows the adventures of Ash Ketchum, as well as the more recent series, titled Pokémon Horizons: The Series.

The new Pokémon The channel will be available exclusively to viewers in the UK. Due to regional restrictions, the BBC iPlayer service will not be available elsewhere.

Pokémon is a Japanese anime series, part of The Pokémon Company's program. Pokémon media franchise, which premiered on TV Tokyo in April 1997.

The anime franchise consists of eight sequel series in Japan, each based on a main installment of the Pokémon video game series. In international broadcasts, these series are divided into 26 seasons, featuring Ash and Pikachu.

However, by season 26, a new cast is introduced, with new protagonists Liko and Roy.

In 2020, there were 23 animated films and one live-action film. They were directed by Kunihiko Yuyama and Tetsuo Yajima, and written by Takeshi Shudo, Hideki Sonoda, Atsuhiro Tomioka, Shōji Yonemura, Eiji Umehara, and Aya Takaha.

Pokémon is currently available for streaming on Netflix in 216 regions and countries. It is also available on Hulu (in the United States and Japan), Amazon Prime Video (in the United States), and JioCinema (in India).
