Although they managed to retrieve the magic stone from the Seabed Temple, Asta was seriously injured. When the Black Bulls return to the surface, a medicine man has a grim prognosis for him: your arms may never be the same. Asta uses the training Mereoleona taught him during the Royal Knights Selection Exam, a test to see which of the Magic Knights are best suited to join a new squad that will attack the Eye of the Midnight Sun's base. Originally known as Licht, the leader of the Eye of the Midnight Sun, takes on another role as leader of the Elven Tribe. and proves to be one of the strongest characters in the series universe. With the reincarnation of the Elf Tribe, they quickly launch an attack on the royal families of the Clover Kingdom, and the Magic Knights must fight to defeat them and keep the newly reincarnated elves in check.

The Great War Begins

After the reincarnated elves have been dealt with, the Magic Knights undergo a grueling six-month training period as they attempt to rebuild the damage that was done to the Clover Kingdom. Asta and his friends work with the mages of the Heart Kingdom.who are engaged in a battle with the Spade Kingdom and the Dark Triad of mages who rule it.

With the Clover Kingdom and the Heart Kingdom united against the Spades, the Great War breaks out between the kingdoms. This is the highest-stakes battle ever to take place in Black Cloverhistory, and soon, Squad captains Yami and Vangeance are captured by the Dark Triadprompting the Magic Knights to launch a rescue attempt. The Magic Knights attack the Spade Kingdom to rescue the captains and prevent the devil-binding ritual that would form the Tree of Qliphoth.
