Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War Cour 3 will incorporate more CGI than Cour 2, according to the series' new director, Hikaru Murata.

This announcement was made in a recent video posted by Viz Media on its official X account on July 6, 2024, featuring Murata, series chief director Tomohisa Taguchi, and producer Tominaga.

“As the new director of the series, I want to maintain the quality of animation that everyone has established since [cour 2]. But if I were to address any changes, we are applying more CGI than cour 2.” Murata said.So I hope fans can look forward to seeing the improved quality of the animation..”

Producer Tominaga added that fans can expect more epic visuals in the upcoming cour.

Murata, who was part of the TYBW Bleach team since the beginning, takes command from Taguchi, who will now serve as chief director and supervisor.

While fans are excited for the upcoming episodes, there are mixed reactions to the news of increased CGI and Murata's new role.

While Murata's promotion to director is seen as a natural progression given his experience, some fans are concerned about his ability to handle action scenes.

Others, however, are more hopeful, pointing out that CGI in TYBW Bleach has been used effectively in the past for both major and minor elements. Examples include the CGI used in Shinji and Rose's Bankai, which was well received by audiences.

They also highlighted that the importance lies in how the CGI is executed, pointing out that well-done CGI, such as that used in Yamamoto's Bankai, can significantly improve the viewing experience.

TYBW Bleach Cour 3, titled The Conflict, will be released in October 2024.

Six Lounges Without a word will be the opening song of the third cour, while Monochrome by Suisoh will be the ending song.

Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War Cour 1 aired in Japan on October 10, 2022 and ended on December 26, 2022, with a special hour-long episode combining episodes 12 and 13 of the anime.

Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War cour 2 began airing on July 8, 2023.

It was previously revealed that the anime will be divided into four cours, with breaks in between.
