Bocchi the Rock! Movie Part 1 Earns 218 Million Yen in Just 3 Days After Release

The first part Bocchi, the rock! compilation film, titled Bocchi, the Rock! Re:made an impressive debut at the Japanese box office.

In just three days of its release, the film grossed over 218,478,888 yen and attracted 141,113 moviegoers, securing the top spot at the weekend box office.

To celebrate the film's success, a new set of zipper stickers featuring original artwork by Suki Haruka will be distributed to viewers starting June 14, 2024.

Additionally, limited screenings of the film with Japanese subtitles for the hearing impaired will be held at select theaters.

Additionally, a series of special announcements will be displayed at JR Shinjuku Station and along the Yamanote Line starting June 10.

These ads will include footage of Bocchi, the Rock! anime and features Kessoku Band’s new song “Tsukinami ni Kagayake,” which is the opening theme for the first part of the compilation film. Advertisements will be displayed on a massive 45.6m LED screen.

To add to the excitement, posters featuring quotes from Hitori Goto related to each season, along with memorable scenes from the anime, will be displayed at various stations. There are a total of 41 different poster designs, each with a unique design for each season.

Bocchi, the Rock! Re: arrived in Japanese theaters on June 7, 2024.

The second part of the compilation film, entitled Bocchi, the Rock! Re: Re:will be released on August 9, 2024.

Bocchi, the Rock! is a Japanese four-panel manga series written and illustrated by Aki Hamaji. It was initially serialized in Houbunsha's Manga Time Kirara Max magazine on December 19, 2017, as a guest work. A full serialization began in the same magazine on March 19, 2018. It has been collected in six tankōbon volumes as of August 25, 2023.

An anime adaptation produced by CloverWorks aired from October to December 2022.
