My Hero Academia has lost relevance according to the Japanese

As we have already reported in previous articles, the story of the manga “Boku no Hero Academia” is about to end in the pages of Weekly Shonen Jump. With the play nearly reaching its tenth anniversary of serialization, one would think that the fact that it is nearly completed would mean that netizens are constantly talking about the play, but apparently that is not happening. In fact, on a popular comment forum, Japanese people discussed the fact that this work ended up being archived some time ago.

The play has already ended with its climax, with Deku defeating All For One once and for all, but sacrificing One For All in the process. As a result, he will end up without a Quirk while still young (unlike All Might, who lost his powers after having already completed his career as a hero). And although the outlook is depressing, it is worth remembering that the author Kohei Horikoshi spoiled the ending of the work in the very first chapter.
Let us remember that in the premiere of the story, Izuku Midoriya introduces himself and presents the story of “Boku no Hero Academia” as the path that led him to become the number one hero in the world that he is today. In fact, several of the bad things that happened to Deku ended up being reversed just a few chapters later, so that readers know that, somehow, there will be a happy ending for the protagonist (mainly due to the presence of the creator of the god-former machines, Eri).
Anyway, why don't we check out what the Japanese have to say about this?
- «I think I've only read the first volume of the manga.».
- «I never understood what they found interesting about this story. Perhaps if the setting had always been academic, as the title suggested, it would have been more relevant.».
- «I have the impression that they keep making anime seasons just because they have to finish them.».
- «It was a lot of fun when they interacted at hero school, but the serious parts were too boring and took too long.».
- «The final battle ended without any excitement. The story took too many leaps to the point of confusing the reader, and I have the impression that it did not end completely.».
- «What happened to all the series that try to imitate One Piece arcs without thinking about whether a story format actually fits their work. It was interesting until the moment when the other characters stopped appearing and we started having one-on-one fights. Then they tried to put them back and the story got even worse».
- «I see that Horikoshi-sensei tried on more than one occasion to make the supporting characters stand out in some way. There was a wide variety of abilities, but their personalities just didn't help.».
- «Ultimately, My Hero Academia's popularity fell on its enemies and Bakugo's fans, who seems like a disastrous character to me.».
- «Isn't it that story where Eri-chan always ends up restoring everything and everything is as if nothing had happened?».
- «Still, the way they defeated All For One seemed pathetic to me. The play was quite interesting until the middle.».
- «It is incredibly popular in the West, where tastes are clearly decadent.».
- «Boku no Hero Academia took a long time to finish, so much so that it ended up being replaced by Jujutsu Kaisen and Kimetsu no Yaiba».
- «It's like One Piece but with better art, the protagonist was buried in his own story».
