This battle has been going on for quite some time now, and with Yuji reaching new levels of power and Sukuna releasing his dominance, it's now clear that it's nearing its end.

Still, for the final push, an intriguing character has returned from the previous chapter, and it's none other than Aoi Todo, who fans missed in Shibuya. Now, Todo has returned to the battle, stronger than ever, and fans are incredibly excited to see what he's capable of doing with his recently revived cursed technique.

What is Boogie Woogie at All?

Boogie Woogie is a unique curse technique that is not that powerful. When compared to many other powerful curse techniques that fans have seen in JJK, this one is simply average at best. However, depending on how it is used, it can be the greatest combat weapon one can possess. Simply put, this innate technique that belongs to Todo allows him to swap places with anyone and anything within a certain range with a clap of his hands if he possesses a certain amount of cursed energy, expending a certain amount of his own energy. That is all this cursed technique does. Todo first used it when it was introduced in JJK, and in the battle against Hanami, he made great use of this alongside Yuji. He was seen switching his place with Yuji's, and at the same time, switching Hanami's place with others as well. He can switch the places of inanimate objects, as long as they are imbued with cursed energy, with himself or with anyone else, or simply clap his hands and not switch at all.

Todo's technique is incredibly simple, but at the same time, the way he utilizes this power makes it a complex technique. The drawbacks of Boogie Woogie are very few, but it is limited in terms of range. Everyone was destined to become one of the strongest sorcerers in JJK, and this is a claim supported by Gojo himself. However, he ended up losing his cursed technique in Shibuya. This happened in his battle with Mahito, where the curse finally managed to use the powers of Idle Transfiguration against him. Todo's hand was affected by this cursed technique, which required him to immediately cut it off or die.

Todo ended up cutting his hand cleanly, and while he was able to activate Boogie Woogie for a while after that, at the end of the battle, Todo clearly mentioned that the cursed technique had died out. He no longer felt this cursed technique within his body, which is one of the reasons why Todo was no longer active in the story after that.

This was very sad for fans, as it killed Todo's potential and at the same time removed him from the story, despite being one of the most interesting characters. Of course, fans of the character always believed that Todo would return at some point, and that's exactly what happened in JJK Chapter 259, where he made his grand return after Sukuna released the power of the Divine Flame within his domain to eliminate all signs of life. If it weren't for Todo, all the sorcerers inside would have died.

Fortunately, there was only one victim, which was Choso, who sacrificed his own life to save his brother, Yuji. Everyone else was successfully rescued by Todo, utilizing the power of Boogie Woogie. With that, his battle against Sukuna began. But more importantly, fans were curious to know exactly how Todo gained access to Boogie Woogie once again. At the same time, fans also know that Todo no longer has his hand to clap, which raises the question of how this technique is activated now. JJK 260 shows fans how Todo managed to significantly upgrade Boogie Woogie, making it more dangerous than ever.

Boogie Woogie Made Better by a Vibraslap

Renewed Boogie Woogie is stronger than ever

In JJK Chapter 260, it has now become clear that Todo has a prosthetic vibraslap instead of a left hand. Fans were expecting Todo to have a prosthetic weapon or a hidden prosthetic hand. However, instead, he has a vibraslap. This vibraslap has a metal piece inside a wooden box that vibrates when it collides internally and produces a unique sound. It is with each vibration of this vibraslap that Todo can now switch places. Essentially, Todo has designed his technique to work in a way that he no longer needs to clap his hands to activate the technique. With each use of the vibraslap, he can now switch up to 50 times in a single second, which makes this cursed technique truly extraordinary.

While this would already make this technique dangerous, Todo actually imposed a binding vow on himself. Because of this Binding Vow, there is a limit on the number of switches relative to the number of collisions of the Vibraslap. In exchange, Todo can significantly increase his range, as well as increase the number of targets he can hit for exchanges with his cursed technique. It was because of this increase in range that he was able to help Yuta and at the same time save the sorcerers from the previous chapter from Sukuna's Divine Flame. Without this Binding Vow, Todo would not have been able to accomplish this magnificent feat.

If that didn't make this technique incredibly overpowered in itself, then Sukuna also mentioned that Todo may actually be able to swap the values for the maximum and minimum number of swaps he can make per vibraslap collision. Essentially, Sukuna himself has confirmed that he cannot adapt Boogie Woogie and that it is an impossible task to accomplish. There is certainly more to come from Todo and fans can expect him to deliver once again in the upcoming chapters of JJK and shows the power of Boogie Woogie once again.
