A couple, a man and a woman, have been arrested in Japan on suspicion of posting uncensored pornographic videos of themselves. The suspects, Naomi Itabashi, 32, and Nobutoshi Kiri, 29, both from Fukuoka City, are accused of sending approximately 190 uncensored obscene videos for overseas payment sites until March 2024. The couple reportedly began recording these videos in 2021 and promoted them on social media as “over 3,000 uncensored photos and videos,” earning approximately 95 million yen in just over two years. The suspects admitted the charges.

In Japan, distributing uncensored pornographic content is illegal. Japanese laws require that explicit body parts in pornographic content be pixelated or otherwise covered. This is due to the Obscene Materials Control Act, which aims to regulate the distribution of sexually explicit content and protect public morals. Violation of these laws can result in severe legal penalties, including prison sentences and substantial fines.

The amount obtained by the couple, equivalent to more than 607 thousand US dollars, has caused a great impact among internet users in Japan. Many were surprised not only by the amount of money involved, but also by the fact that an illegal activity could generate such an amount of income in a relatively short period of time.

The news caused a mixture of surprise and disappointment among Japanese internet users. Many have expressed frustration with the lack of sexual freedom in the country, arguing that Japan's laws on censoring adult content are outdated and restrictive. Comparison with other countries where uncensored pornography is legal and widely accessible has also been a topic of debate.

  • «A crime where there are no victims, do you realize how ridiculous that is?».
  • «Who are they? I bet I saw them on the internet once».
  • «Well, if you live in Japan, you will eventually be arrested for any nonsense.».
  • «I don't understand why this is still considered a crime».
  • «If we wait just a few more years, I'm sure pornography won't need to be censored anymore. The easiest way to combat illegality is to be permissive.».
  • «If we got rid of the stupid pornography censorship law, I'm sure things would change a lot in Japan.».
  • «Perhaps when a younger generation comes to power, we may see an opportunity for this stupid law to cease to exist.».
  • «It's scary how easy it is to make millions on the Internet, especially through pornography.».
