This post generated a wave of excitement among fans of “Chainsaw Man” and “The Amazing Digital Circus,” resulting in the creation of memes and fan art that compared Pomni, the protagonist of The Amazing Digital Circus, with Kobeni, one of the characters in Chainsaw Man. The similarity between the two figures was a recurring theme among fans, who noted common traits between the characters in terms of appearance and expressions.

The Amazing Digital Circus, created by Gooseworx and produced by GLITCH, released its pilot episode on October 13, 2023, to overwhelmingly positive response. Described as a “dark psychological comedy about cartoon characters who hate their lives and want to run away,” the series has been viewed millions of times and racked up millions of likes. In the opening episode, we follow Pomni, a human who puts on a virtual reality headset and becomes trapped in a circus world from which she cannot escape. As she meets the rest of the characters she is trapped with, Pomni must fight to maintain her sanity and understand the truth behind her strange new home.
This is not the first time that Fujimoto has demonstrated his enthusiasm for the most unusual or polarizing productions. A few months ago, the “Chainsaw Man” creator shared his list of favorite anime and media for 2023, which included works like “FLCL: Shoegaze” and Netflix’s upcoming addition “Maboroshi: Alice and Therese’s Illusion Factory.”produced by studio MAPPA, although the latter did not perform particularly favorably at the Japanese box office.
This passion for cinema is also reflected in the animated adaptation of “Chainsaw Man”, where cinematic references abound. The franchise is currently preparing to return with a film based on the Reze Arc. whose trailer is now available. However, as of yet, a concrete release date for the film has not been revealed, leaving fans waiting for more news.
