In news that has rocked the cosplay and social media communities, the tragic murder of a popular Chinese cosplayer has been confirmed. Ai Kirishima (桐島愛), 25 years old. According to local authorities, Ai was murdered by her boyfriend, a 150-kilo man, who later dismembered and abandoned her body in a mountainous area.. This horrific crime left his followers and friends, as well as the cosplay community in general, stunned.

Chinese authorities confirmed on June 22 that Ai Kirishima had died and that the suspect had been arrested. The couple reportedly had a turbulent relationship, marked by frequent arguments, during which Ai allegedly slapped her boyfriend in public. The victim, known on social media as an influential figure in Shanghai, maintained an active presence in the cosplay community.
An acquaintance from the cosplay community revealed that he had already had disputes with Ai Kirishima and never imagined that it would end so tragically. Furthermore, he described Ai's boyfriend as a deceiver. Other acquaintances mentioned that Ai used psychological violence against his partner and that, in moments of conflict, he would beat him publicly. Close friends indicated that the relationship did not seem like a couple and that it was clear that they would end up separating.
Ai Kirishima's boyfriend, known as "Sange (三哥)", had a notable presence in eSports and anime circles. Unlike Ai's slender figure, Sange weighed 150 kilograms. Since May 17, the style of posts on Ai's social media account has changed, leading to suspicions that Sange was impersonating her identity to post.
