Netflix is doing a lot to promote the second season of its live-action series One piece adaptation, including having Luffy actor Iñaki Godoy celebrate his character's birthday, or slowly revealing new cast members. Original manga creator Eiichiro Oda is closely involved with the production, and he just shared a lengthy note online about what's to come:

Yes, the live-action One Piece is currently in production, with filming well underway. The story will cover Loguetown, Reverse Mountain (Twin Cape), Whiskey Peak, Little Garden, and Drum Island! Think about that. Imagine how much it will cost! LOL. But whether it’s the script or the cast, I keep harping on about this or that, which makes Matt the Showrunner go “Aaarrgh!” and Netflix go “Nooo!” and Tomorrow Studios go “What?” while everyone pulls their hair out. All this, even though we came so close to making the first season.

But that’s because we all share the same passion for this show! Just like last season, they went out of their way to promise that they wouldn’t release the show until I was satisfied. That’s not in the contract, you know. It’s a verbal promise. I hope you can appreciate how amazing and determined they are to keep their word. And they’ve certainly proven their ability to bring this world to the screen. I can’t wait to see it!

In the meantime, the previously announced cast has been compiled on X’s official account, so go check it out. The Grand Line is an even more expansive “World.” You might wonder, what was the inspiration behind that realm? How would it connect to the real world? Naturally, the diverse cast members have been gathered from all over the world, and I can’t help but get excited thinking about how the adventure has already begun!

Of those yet to be announced, what about Vivi? And Miss All Sunday? What are they doing with Chopper? We can't announce them all at once, but starting tomorrow, we'll be announcing more cast members over the course of three days: August 21, 22, and 23.

Stay tuned and wait for more interesting updates!

What do you think of Oda's teases and revelations? Are you looking forward to the new season of One piece?
