In a recent interview, Masahiro Shinoharathe new director of the anime adaptation of “Re:ZERO – Starting life in another world“, shared his thoughts and expectations about the third season that will premiere in October of this year with an initial 90-minute episode.
«Going into the third season, I was asked to become the new director, and for a popular series like “Re:ZERO – Starting Life in Another World,” there was a lot of pressure to live up to its reputation.», commented Shinohara. «But I think just like we went from season one to season two, I wanted to keep that same momentum going into season three. And instead of trying to keep things relatively calm or not try too hard in the first episode, I wanted to do the opposite: really push forward and make sure that season three starts strong and stays strong. This really motivated me to become the new director.».
Additionally, Shinohara announced some changes and new features that fans can expect in this new installment. «In the third season, we won't just focus on Subaru and his company. The other companies will also be part of the plot and will be highlighted. It's not just Subaru, other companies and characters will also have more opportunities to showcase their strengths.».
The “companies” that Shinohara refers to are the teams that accompany each of the candidates for the Royal Selection, which will define the forty-second queen of Lugunica, Emilia being one of them. «There weren't as many opportunities for that in the previous season. So I hope everyone can have high expectations. I hope everyone has fun, enjoys it, and looks forward to these new changes.», concluded the director.
The third season of “Re:ZERO – Starting life in another world" promises to bring new emotions and further expand the universe of the series, offering fans a rich experience full of surprises. With Shinohara at the helm, the series aims to exceed expectations and leave an indelible mark on the history of anime.
