Chapter 161 of the manga “Oshi no Ko”published today, left fans in shock and quickly trended on social media due to its intense and suspenseful ending. This chapter, titled “Future,” featured shocking revelations about Hikaru Kamiki and the extreme decisions Aqua Hoshino is willing to make to protect her sister Ruby.

The chapter begins with the enigmatic Crow Girl talking about Hikaru Kamiki, revealing that after having killed all the people who could have surpassed Ai Hoshino, Hikaru fell into a deep obsession. Using his incredible charisma, Kamiki was able to spread his ideas and manipulate others into working for him. His pride disappeared and he began to find satisfaction in taking other people's lives, which also explained why, despite his relationship with Ruby Hoshino, he felt that killing her was part of his destiny.
In the midst of this tense confrontation, Aqua Hoshino, armed with a knife, confronts Hikaru, who tries to manipulate him with his words. Kamiki mentions that killing him could be beneficial as it would increase Ai Hoshino's life value to an even higher level. However, realizing that Aqua would not be fooled by this argument, Hikaru changes his approach, suggesting that if Aqua killed him, Ruby's career as an idol would be over. The media would not hesitate to label Ruby the “sister of a murderer,” destroying her dignity and her future in the entertainment industry.
Despite these attempts at manipulation, Aqua proves that she is willing to do anything to protect Ruby, even if it means sacrificing her own dreams. In an intense internal revelation, Aqua reflects on everything she would leave behind: becoming a surgeon, reciprocating Kana Arima's feelings, enjoying a day at the beach with her half-brother Taiki Himekawa, calling Miyako Saitou "mother", thanking Akane Kurokawa for her kindness, and seeing Ruby succeed at the Tokyo Dome. Despite all this, he decides that protecting his sister's future is the most important thing.
The tension reaches its peak when Aqua makes a drastic decision: he stabs himself with the knife, hatching a plan to make the media believe that Hikaru tried to kill him after the premiere of the autobiographical film, and that both, during the fight, they fell off the cliff. This way, Ruby wouldn’t be stigmatized as “a murderer’s sister.” Just as Aqua declares her plan, she grabs Hikaru and launches herself into the void with him.
