Shinigami do not rely solely on basic sword fighting techniques in Bleach series, as they can also use demonic arts known as Kido. With enough imagination, these enchantments range from protective barriers to powerful energy beams. However, Most Shinigami use it in moderation.which results in underrated Kido spells that will likely only be seen once.

Despite its lack of screen time, this underutilized mechanic remains popular among fans due to its creativity. While there are clear standouts like Sosuke Aizen's Hado #90 Kurohitsugi, there are several underrated Kido spells that also deserve attention. Many fighters would greatly increase their chances of victory with these moves.

Hachigen Ushoda |
Hachigen is a residential Kido master. His ability to manipulate space and time has several useful applications, such as teleporting objects with Hako Okuri or hiding his presence with Hachigyo Sogai. While he primarily relies on Bakudo's defensive techniques to protect himself and others, Hachigen also has some offensive countermeasures. Chocolate Bar Slider, a simple technique that evokes five rectangular prisms of energy.
The user can increase this number and fire multiple projectiles at once. Hachigen first used this ability against Gerard Valkyrie in his giant form, meaning the rectangular prisms are huge. It is among several underrated Kido spells that go unnoticed in the Bleach Series. It's rare to see Hachigen go on the attack, as he's normally a pacifist.

Marechiyo Omaeda |
Captain Sui-Feng's lieutenant may look like a coward, but his Kido spells are very effective in escape routes and diversions. Sekienton is a simple technique that creates a huge cloud of red smoke, which completely envelops the user and gives them a chance to flee. It is first used against Baraggan Louisenbairn, the self-proclaimed king of Hueco Mundo, who can barely tolerate Omaeda's presence.
Omaeda makes a comical dash as Baraggan easily sees through his smoke. However, this gives Sui-Feng an opportunity to blast the second level Espada with his Bankai, Jakuho Raikoben. Sekienton is not particularly flashy like other Kido spells, but it does have practical uses in battle. Clever and skilled fighters can potentially distract opponents with a feint before revealing their real move.

Jushiro Ukitake |
Defense is also a great form of offense. Jushiro Ukitake incorporates this strategic mindset into his fighting style. When he faces Lilynette Gingerbuck in White Invasion, he easily deflects her direct attacks with Kido spells. He can use Seki to create a miniature barrier to protect him. It also creates a knockback effect that sends opponents flying away, as is the case with Lilynette.
In a fast-paced series like Bleach, a single mistake or wasted move can result in a critical hit. Seki is a knockback technique that solves this problem. With his calm and cool demeanor, Ukitake easily handles incoming attacks, and that's without considering the rest of his move set. He specializes in catching his opponents off guard with his barriers.

Momo Hinamori |
Momo Hinamori specializes in Kido spells to compensate for her lack of physical strength. She can be very cunning with her fighting style in Bleach, which she exemplifies in her arduous fight against the Tres Bestias during the White Invasion. Momo combines a basic Kido Net and the red flame cannon of the Hado #31 Shakkaho to create Fushibi, a large spider web that wraps around enemies and explodes.
It's a creative use of several weaker spells to create a stronger one. The fire blast is powerful enough to force Tier Harribel's Fraccion on the defensive. They have to enter their Resurrection forms just so they can regenerate from the massive damage Momo dealt them. Fushibi shows the untapped potential of combination attacks. With enough strategy and spiritual energy, Kido's spells can make or break a fight.

Ise did |
She's not the strongest, the fastest, or even the smartest of the Shinigami, but Nanao Ise is not to be underestimated in any way. She's a true underdog in every sense of the word. Bleach. Nanao is a Kido master whose spells draw praise from the likes of Jugram Haschwalth, the Grand Master of the Wandenreich and Yhwach's right-hand man.
Hakudan Keppeki is a defensive barrier that prevents Quincy from passing through., albeit only for a short period. It is a situational technique, but potentially effective during the bloody war between the Shinigami and Quincy. However, it has a major weakness: only Nanao can use it. The selective nature of this Kido spell prevents widespread use among the rest of the Shinigami, which Haschwalth openly mentions.

Yoruichi Shihoin |
While many Bleach characters fight with Kido spells, there is a surprising lack of countermeasures against them. Yoruichi Shihoin is among the few practitioners who can completely nullify another opponent's Kido. Hanki not only neutralizes enemy movements, but also nullifies Kido spells.. However, such a technique requires the user to activate Kido with the same power level, but with an opposite force.
Yoruichi demonstrates this against Sui-Feng when she grabs his wrist, before being effectively stabbed with her Suzumebachi's Shikai. With a single movement and equal use of Kido, the attack is stopped right there, much to Sui-Feng's dismay. Anti-Kido techniques are extremely rare in the series, but would theoretically be useful against multiple practitioners.

Hado #90 Kurohitsugi is arguably his most famous Kido spell, but Aizen has a few underrated ones that he can use in his master plans.

Millon Shield starts out as a small invisible barrier, but will enlarge when hit by a direct attack. It can even reflect powerful energy blasts like Getsuga Tensho. It is a useful but underrated Kido spell that protects users in the event of a sneak attack.

Genryusai Shigekuni Yamamoto |

Bleach: The 15 Strongest Characters, Ranked
Bleach is full of strong and imposing characters, but which one is considered the strongest?
Genryusai Shigekuni Yamamoto often relies on his extremely powerful Zanpakuto to eliminate the existence of enemies, but even a warrior god can be a pacifist when he wants to be. Inemuri is an underrated Kido spell that induces sleep in a target.. Yamamoto demonstrates this on Momo Hinamori in the Arrancar arc. He places his hand over her face, which causes her eyes to dilate before she passes out.
Whether or not Inemuri only works on spiritually weaker fighters remains unknown. Yamamoto is usually a desperate last resort against unbeatable gods like Sosuke Aizen and Yhwach, so there's no telling how effective Inemuri would be against other gods. Bleach characters. Otherwise, it would be a quick way to end any fight without much hassle.

Tessai Tsukabishi |
Tessai Tsukabishi almost never gets the chance to show off his Kido skills during Bleach fights. During a brief battle against Sosuke Aizen 101 years ago, he performed a high-grade Hado spell without incantation. When the user extends their arm towards a target, Hiryu Gekizoku Shinten Raiho allows the user to fire a massive lightning cannon. Upon impact, it creates a huge explosion of spiritual energy.
Tessai is formerly the Grand Kido Chief of the little-observed Kido Corps. This is a tremendous accolade that places him at the absolute pinnacle of powerful Kido practitioners. Even the likes of Hachigen Ushoda were once merely his lieutenants. Despite his level of power, Tessai is largely a secondary character who rarely gets involved in the plot. His special variety of Kido techniques are rarely seen.

Goryutenmetsu is the highest-ranking Kido spell in the Hado category. Only the strongest fighters can master this difficult-to-execute technique. The user summons five monstrous dragons into the surrounding area. Sosuke Aizen briefly uses it against Yhwach at the climax of the Thousand-Year Blood War, but is attacked before he can do anything.
This rarely seen Kido spell receives additional details in Bleach: Can't Fear Your Own World novel. Its special ability to absorb nearby spiritual energy is what makes it a forbidden technique.
