Gojo is back in JJK. The second round of Gojo vs Sukuna may start soon.

However, unless the author goes ahead and says otherwise, fans should assume that the editor and narrator's words are true. More importantly, there are other intriguing questions surrounding Gojo, such as his missing right eye.

Gojo de Jujutsu Kaisen

Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 260 was absolutely spectacular for fans and it goes without saying. This chapter was exciting from start to finish as it gave fans a real battle between the duo of Yuji and Todo against the King of Curses, Sukuna. Fans hadn’t seen Todo in battle for quite some time and certainly most readers of the series were looking forward to his return. Now that Todo is back, it was incredibly exciting to see him teaming up with Yuji once again and messing with the King of Curses, paving a path for Yuji to claim victory. This battle was incredibly exciting and fans got to see Todo show off his improved cursed technique, Boogie Woogie. At the same time, the teamwork between Yuji and Toto was effortless and allowed them to land more blows on the King of Curses, weakening him even further.

Then Sukuna saw a phantom of immense strength that he had buried with his own hands!

However, while all of this was certainly exciting and deserves praise in its own right, the chapter's biggest moment came at the very end, where, against all odds, the strongest modern sorcerer, Gojo Satoru, finally seemed to have returned as a ghost. This was a huge shock to almost every fan of the series, and one that many were in disbelief about upon seeing it for the first time. Fans should by no means discount Gojo's return. This is simply due to the fact that there are two different individuals in the same chapter confirming Gojo's return, either as a ghost or as an actual human being.

The narrator himself goes on to say that Sukuna saw the ghost of the strongest he buried, and at the same time, the editor adds and says that the eye he witnessed was unmistakable. As such, for now, Gojo has made a sensational return to the story, and it will be incredibly exciting to see how this will change Jujutsu Kaisen from here on out.

Gojo's right eye

Gojo may have lost his right eye permanently

Of course, fans only got two panels. JJK Chapter 260 with Gojo in it. The first panel showed Gojo in silhouette behind a cloud of smoke, while Sukuna looked to his left while making the palm sign for the expansion of his domain. Fans know that Sukuna wanted to expand his domain once more to end the battle against Yuji and Todo. Before he could do so, however, Gojo appeared on the battlefield. The second panel came right after, in which Gojo looked down on Sukuna, and that's where the chapter ended. Interestingly, in this last panel of the chapter, fans were unable to see Gojo's right eye. Only his left eye was visible, although his hair did not cover the other part of his face.

When Gojo Satoru was born, the balance of the entire world changed!

Now, this could simply be a stylistic choice by the author. Of course, oftentimes, series authors have their own artistic style that can sometimes be over the top. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. However, at the same time, it also opens the door for discussion, especially when there’s a big reason for Gojo being missing his right eye.

Jujutsu Kaisen: Why Gojo's Return Makes Perfect Sense

Gojo's return was highly anticipated in JJK. Here's why it makes perfect sense.

When Gojo fought Sukuna and lost, he did not lose his right eye. Even though he was cut off by the World Splitting Dismantle, Gojo had both eyes intact, and fans saw them in several panels. As such, one might be confused as to why Gojo would be missing his right eye. However, there is something deeper here that fans need to note. For one, Gojo was most certainly dead. This was confirmed by the author through the narrator, the editor, Sukuna, and many other individuals in the story. Essentially, returning from death would require a great sacrifice, and Gojo, who wields the power of the Six Eyes, could have potentially given it up.

Could Gojo have made a sacrifice?

Gojo's sacrifice could have paved the way for his return

The chances of Gojo sacrificing his right eye are certainly there. While nothing is set in stone at this point, this is a very interesting idea that fans would love to discuss until JJK Chapter 261 is released. Essentially, Gojo would have to make a huge sacrifice to facilitate his return. This sacrifice could come through a binding vow. Fans have seen several binding vows in JJK lately. For example, in order to gain an advantage in battle, Sukuna has nerfed himself in other ways on several occasions. In the previous chapter, Todo did something similar to improve the range of Boogie Woogie and the number of people it could hit. Similarly, to return from death, Gojo could have made a binding vow that would essentially help him come back.

Now, returning from death is a big deal, and as such, it would also require a major Binding Vow. Fans already know that the Six Eyes, which are directly linked to Tengen, would serve as a suitable sacrifice. Simply put, by sacrificing one of his eyes, Gojo could have regained his life in exchange. This is a fair trade, and explains why Gojo would be missing his right eye. From there, the rest of the work would have been done by Shoko, as she would have healed his body perfectly, and Ui Ui could then have transported him back to the battlefield, which would explain why Sukuna suddenly started noticing him.

At the same time, fans should also keep in mind that now that Gojo is on the battlefield, he will likely attack Sukuna. In fact, the person who apparently opened his domain in JJK Chapter 260 might not be Sukuna, but Gojo. Fans don’t know who exactly uttered the words “domain expansion” in the chapter and the author could easily be misleading fans by making it seem like it was Sukuna, but in reality, it could have been Gojo who would be unleashing the power of Unlimited Void very soon. Regardless of how fans see things, things are incredibly exciting in Jujutsu Kaisen right now and from here on out, things are only going to get better. All fans have to do is wait and luckily, there will be no break next week either.

Jujutsu Kaisen is available to read from Viz Media. The series can be read by fans officially and for free in Shonen Jump and Manga Plus application. The release date for the next chapter of JJK, Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 261, is set for May 26, 2024.
