Hunter × Hunter is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yoshihiro Togashi. It has been serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump manga magazine since March 1998, although the manga has frequently gone on extended hiatuses since 2006.
Yoshihiro Togashi is currently serializing Hunter × Hunter on an irregular schedule due to his ongoing health problems, including back pain.
The manga went on hiatus for the last time after the publication of chapter 400 on December 18, 2022.
However, he has been actively posting updates about the latest chapters on his official X account.
On November 20, 2023, he revealed the end of Hunter x Hunter to guests on TV Asahi's popular variety show Iwakura and Yoshizumi, in case he passed away before the manga was completed.
The author revealed three planned endings for the HxH manga – A, B and C, all of which will have different levels of fan satisfaction.
The manga has been translated into English and released in North America by Viz Media since April 2005.
Hunter × Hunter was adapted into a 62-episode anime television series produced by Nippon Animation and directed by Kazuhiro Furuhashi, which aired on Fuji Television from October 1999 to March 2001.
