Jaime Lee Curtis Will Not Be Appearing in One Piece Live-Action Season 2 as Doctor Kureha

In a recent interview with Deadline, Tomorrow Studios CEO Marty Adelstein and company president Becky Clements confirmed that Jamie Lee Curtis will not be joining the cast of One Piece Live Action Season 2.

Despite Jamie's keen interest in taking on the role of Doctor Kureha and the excitement of fans, scheduling conflicts prevented her from joining the series.

She loves the show”, said Clements. “She has a lot of movies and TV shows that she's going into production on, so our production dates aren't going to work. She definitely wanted to do it, but she has deals in the first place, and it just became complicated.

The production team, however, assured fans that Kureha's role will still come to life in season 2 and that they have found a suitable replacement.

We met an amazing person”, Clements revealed, although he did not reveal who would take on the role.

One piece The second live-action season is set to premiere in 2025, with Joe Tracz joining as the new writer, executive producer and co-showrunner alongside Matt Owens.

Netflix is exclusively streaming the series, produced by Tomorrow Studios, a partnership between producer Marty Adelstein and ITV Studios.

The first season of the series was Netflix's most-watched title in the second half of 2023.
