Japan: Teacher fired for selling her backpack

On January 25, the Akita Prefectural Board of Education in Japan suspended a teacher at a high school in Daisen City for a year and disciplined her for posting obscene videos on a paid website.

The teacher was arrested in November 2023 for making obscene images available for viewing by an undetermined number of people. On December 15, 2023, she was issued a summary order by the Omagari Summary Court with a fine of 200,000 yen, and on January 25, she was suspended from work for one year and subject to disciplinary action.
