Of course there were many ups and downs in this arc, however, the vast majority of it was full of good surprises for fans, and it seems that JJK Chapter 260 returned with another big surprise, showing the return of the strongest modern sorcerer, Gojo Satoru, against the King of Curses, Ryomen Sukuna.
Gojo Satoru's death in JJK
Gojo lost his life after being hit by a global meltdown
Gojo and Sukuna faced off in Shinjuku in a battle that lasted for many chapters. This battle was incredibly exciting, right from the start, when Gojo unleashed a 200% Hollow Purple to announce his arrival on the battlefield, and Sukuna blocked it with his cursed energy-infused hands. From then on, this battle was fierce, with Gojo and Sukuna fighting incredibly well to counter each other's abilities. Fans witnessed several domain clashes between them, and eventually, both of them lost access to their powerful domains as well. After an incredible fight that could have gone either way, Sukuna came out on top by managing to expand the target of his technique to the entire world and bypass Gojo's Infinity.
Farewell, Gojo Satoru! I will never forget you as long as I live.
With that, he was able to cut Gojo's body and end the battle for good. Gojo's body was left right there, and fans were even treated to a flashback of this particular character meeting up with his former comrades in a plane of existence between life and death. There, it was heavily implied that Gojo had already died. However, the author certainly left room for his return.
Gege himself left clues in the story regarding Gojo’s return. For example, the first clue was in the chapter where Gojo died. It was mentioned in the chapter that if an individual is satisfied with their life and happy with the way it is, they can choose to go south in the afterlife. However, if they decide to seek a younger version of themselves, they must head north. Although the title of the chapter itself was “Going South,” fans knew that a character like Gojo would never be content with that.
Moving forward, the author revealed more hints about Gojo's potential return. The biggest hint of all was that Gojo's body was moved by Ui Ui using her cursed technique and brought back to Shoko. Fans know that Shoko is a master of the reverse curse technique, and this is exactly how Gojo could have been healed and sent back to the battlefield to finish the job he started and defeat the King of Curses, Sukuna.
Gojo returns in JJK Chapter 260
Gojo finally appeared in front of Sukuna again
In JJK In Chapter 260, fans got to see an incredibly exciting battle between the Yuji and Todo duo and Sukuna. Using the power of Boogie Woogie, Todo caused all sorts of trouble for Sukuna. He was surprised to learn that it is practically impossible to adapt to Boogie Woogie's power, especially after he got stronger. Todo can essentially switch places up to 50 times per second, which makes this technique incredibly powerful. If that wasn't enough, fans also need to keep in mind that Boogie Woogie's range has been increased ridiculously. Todo was able to save all the sorcerers inside the domain except Choso in the previous chapter by expanding the range of his technique from outside the domain. This is an incredibly large range for this cursed technique, and while it is non-lethal, one can see how it causes Sukuna so much trouble.
Sukuna saw… what his hands buried. The ghost of the strongest!

Jujutsu Kaisen: Why Nobara's Return Is Still Possible
With the return of Todo and Gojo, it is likely that Nobara will also return in JJK.
The continuous exchange gave Yuji the opportunity to sink his claws deep into the Curse King's chest, and to do so, Sukuna sought to counterattack by opening his domain once more. Even though Sukuna had exhausted his cursed technique in the previous chapter, he had acquired the ability to restore his burned-out cursed technique using Gojo's reverse cursed technique. As he prepared to open his domain once more, something distracted Sukuna. As he looked to his left, he clearly saw a shadowy figure emerging from the smoke, and that individual was Gojo.
The narrator made it clear that the ghost of the strongest that Sukuna buried alone has now returned. At the same time, the editor's comments mentioned that this individual has unmistakable eyes and clearly, this is a reference to Gojo's Six Eyes. Now, Gojo Satoru has returned to the battle and fans are incredibly excited to see how his fight against Sukuna continues.

Gojo Vs Sukuna Looks Set to Continue in Jujutsu Kaisen
With Gojo Satoru's return now confirmed, fans know that a second round of the battle is on the horizon. Gojo isn't in the best shape and certainly isn't at his strongest, given that he's reportedly just been healed, but he'll still pose a huge threat to Sukuna. In fact, it'll be incredibly exciting to see how Gojo approaches the battle from here on out. Meanwhile, Sukuna is already on his last legs. That said, fans should also keep in mind that Uraume pointed out that Sukuna gets stronger when the flames of battle also get hotter. Sukuna may not be at his best, and Gojo's return to the battlefield could also push him beyond his limits, which makes for an exciting battle to come.
This time, however, Gojo will have Yuji by his side, as well as Todo. Together, the three of them can defeat the King of Curses and put an end to this incredibly long battle. It will certainly be worth it, and fans can rest assured that Gojo will play a major role in defeating Sukuna and saving the remaining Sorcerers for good.
The upcoming chapters of Jujutsu Kaisen will likely be the most exciting of the entire Shinjuku Showdown arc, and fans simply can't wait to see how Gojo's return was possible and how it will affect the story going forward. For now, fans will simply have to sit back and wait patiently to see things unfold, and while they do so, theorize, because that's the essence of reading any story anyway.
Jujutsu Kaisen is available to read from Viz Media. The series can be read by fans officially and for free in Shonen Jump and Manga Plus application. The release date for the next chapter of JJK, Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 261, is set for May 26, 2024.
