This announcement comes as the manga surpasses 15 million copies in circulation.

Matsumoto expressed his gratitude to readers for reaching this milestone, stating: “With the release of Volume 13 on July 4, 'Kaiju No. 8' has surpassed 15 million copies in domestic circulation! Thank you to everyone who has been reading it all this time and to those who started reading it after watching the anime, we were able to reach such a large number! Thank you very much.

Kaiju No. 8 is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Naoya Matsumoto. It has been serialized in the Shonen Jump+ app and on Shueisha's website since July 2020, with its chapters collected in 13 tankōbon volumes as of July 2024.

Viz Media has licensed the series for an English-language release in North America.

An anime television series adaptation produced by Production I.G. aired from April to June 2024. A sequel has been announced.
