After the final episode aired, it was confirmed the production of a film trilogy that will adapt the “Infinite Fortress Arc”of the“ franchiseDemon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba“. At the same time, Crunchy Roll announced that it had acquired the rights and that will release this film series in the West (I hope it's on par with their Japanese releases).
It is important to mention that, previously, leaks assured that this trilogy would adapt everything that is left of the manga. However, the project is officially titled as “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinite Castle Arc“, which involves a total of 44 chapters of the manga, but which leaves out the “Countdown to Dawn Arc”covering 22 final chapters.
In the end, we will have to wait for the release of the first film to do the math and see if the project covers the final arc or not. And speaking of which, no expected release date, not even an approximate one, has been revealed.
On the other hand, Koyoharu Gotouge published the original manga through the magazine Weekly Shonen Jump from the publisher Shueisha between February 2016 and May 2020, compiling the work in a total of twenty-three volumes. The anime adaptation produced by the studios Ufotable aired a total of four seasons since the first in Spring-2019 (April-June)which have a total of 63 episodes so far, in addition to three films (one canonical and two other compilations).
