One piece It is one of the most emblematic works in history, delivering an incredible plot that even after so many years does not culminate, but which also knew how to give us some of the best characters in popular culture, its protagonist being Monkey d Luffy the most representative face of all. That's why new figures are constantly being put on sale, but the one that was presented a few days ago surprised for several reasons, firstly because it shows Luffy in his “waifu” version and secondly because this design is original by Eiichiro Odathe mangaka creator of the entire One Piece universe.

A few days ago One piece celebrated a new anniversary of the manga, more precisely the 27th, and as part of this a special publication was shared from the official account of the Twitter/X belonging to the franchise Eiichiro Oda where we are shown the protagonist Monkey d Luffy. But what surprised many is that it is a new special figure, which shows us Luffy in his female version, which is also an original drawing by Oda himself, accompanied in turn by another figure of the young man in another of the drawings made by the mangaka.
As you can see in the image, this “waifu” version of Luffy adds different pieces of clothing that also keep the name of the series' protagonist. One piece, and the most notable is the red, blue, and yellow color palette that is still present. Although since there was a gender swap, some changes had to be made to the clothing, such as the original jeans now becoming much shorter or Luffy's open shirt now becoming a sleeveless shirt closed in the center so as not to show too much.
In addition to this “waifu” version, which was the one that made fans fall in love One piecenext to it you can get another one where we see Luffy with its original style, although with some changes in its original facial features, in turn. Eiichiro Oda and both versions of the protagonist have been seen in the past. The first, in “waifu” mode, can be seen in one of the special editions where the mangaka answered questions from fans known as SBS, in this case the one from volume 56 of the manga, while the second is one of the many versions used by Oda throughout this SBS.
Both figures will be part of the collection called “One Piece World Collectible Figures”which can be purchased through Weekly Shonen Jump, and all the details to acquire it can be seen in the latest version of this, so the price has not yet been known when this week's version of the magazine is released. Finally, it is not known whether the figures will be able to be purchased in specialized stores in the future, so we will have to wait for some special confirmation from Weekly Shonen Jump so that these incredible collectible pieces reach a much larger audience.
