Following today's final episode, a press release announced the production of a new sequel to the anime franchise “Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei (The Irregular at Magic High School)”. This sequence will be a film that will adapt the “Yotsuba Succession Arc”which covers volume 16 of the original light novels.

Although a promotional video was included, an expected release date for this new project was not revealed. It is important to highlight that this is one of the oldest franchises based on light novels, inspiring its first season more than ten years ago and lasting until today through seasons, OVAs, films and spin-offs.

Finally, the arc in question is described as follows:

• In December, Miyuki receives an invitation to the Yotsuba family's New Year's gathering. However, unlike previous years, the invitation specifically added “Everyone must attend”. Miyuki understands that “the time has come”: it is time to decide the next head of the Yotsuba clan. (If she is chosen, her brother will be free.) For its part, Tsutomu Satou and Kana Ishida They started publishing light novels through the publisher Dengeki Bunko from the publisher Kadokawa in July 2011 and completed in September 2021. A sequel titled “Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei: Magic Company” released its first volume in October 2021 in Japan.

The work has inspired three anime seasons since Spring-2014 (April-June), which so far has a total of fifty-two episodes. Synopsis of Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei

At the dawn of the 21st century, magic, long considered folklore and fairy tales, has become a systematized technology and is taught as a technical skill. At the First Preparatory School, the institution of magicians, students are segregated into two groups based on their college entrance exam scores: those with high scores are sent to the First Course, while the “herbs” are the reserve students. The Second Course.

Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei follows siblings Tatsuya and Miyuki Shiba, who enroll in the First Course. Upon taking the exam, the prodigious Miyuki is placed in the First Course, while Tatsuya is demoted to the Second Course.
