Synopsis of Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei

At the dawn of the 21st century, magic, long considered folklore and fairy tales, has become a systematized technology and is taught as a technical skill. At the First Preparatory School, the institution of magicians, students are segregated into two groups based on their college entrance exam scores: those who get high marks are sent to the First Course, while the “mistakes” are the reserve students.
