The Rinnegan is one of the most incredible powers in the world of Naruto that fans have seen. This is an extraordinary eye that can be considered the most exalted of the Three Great Dojutsu. The Rinnegan is, simply, a divine eye common among the Otsutsuki and, at the same time, those who managed to recreate Hagoromo Otsutsuki's chakra.

Over the years, fans have seen many powerful Rinnegan in the Boruto franchise, with each of them having unique powers. They are all incredible in their own way, however, some possess greater powers than others.

5 Momoshiki's Rinnegan

Momoshiki has been granted access to play Yellow Rinnegan

Momoshiki is a villain who first appeared in Boruto: Naruto the Movie. He turned out to be an incredibly powerful Otsutsuki, and someone that even Kaguya feared greatly. He came to Earth in search of Naruto's chakra. Of course, a battle between these Titans was inevitable, and it certainly did happen later on. When it did, fans got to see an incredible showdown, where Momoshiki made great use of his Rinnegan powers.

Although Momoshiki possessed the Six Paths Powers, just like any regular Rinnegan user, he primarily relied on his ability to absorb chakra and expel it using his second Rinnegan. Overall, this was a fairly solid Rinnegan ability, but his abilities with this eye can be considered his weakest.

4 Madara's Rinnegan

Madara awakened the Rinnegan thanks to Hashirama's flesh

Madara Uchiha managed to awaken the Rinnegan moments before his death. After finally integrating Asura's chakra with his own, he was able to gain the eye of the Sage of the Six Paths. Madras could use the absolutely extraordinary powers of the Six Paths, and in addition, he could also use the incredible power of Limbo, where he could summon shadows from an alternate realm that could only be seen or touched by those with the powers of the Six Paths.

Madara was an absolutely incredible Rinnegan user. In fact, his Rinnegan has also trickled down to many other users. For example, Madara placed his Rinnegan inside Nagato when he was a baby, and he went on to control that eye brilliantly. In fact, Nagato himself can be considered one of the greatest Rinnegan users. Later, Obito took it for himself, though he could only control one, as maintaining the power of two was simply too difficult for him. Eventually, the eye returned to Madara, who ended up serving as a vessel for Kaguya.

3 Sasuke's Rinnegan

Sasuke Uchiha gained Hagoromo's Rinnegan

Sasuke Uchiha managed to awaken the Rinnegan during the Fourth Great Ninja War. Fans already know that Sasuke is an extraordinarily powerful ninja. By the time of his battle with Madara, Sasuke had already awakened the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan. However, this was not enough to take him down. When Sasuke was on the brink of death, Hagoromo gifted him with half of his chakra, and this caused his left eye to transform into a Rinnegan.

Sasuke's Rinnegan could do everything Madara's could. The only difference was that he did not have Limbo, but instead had a Space-Time ninjutsu called amenotijikara, which allowed him to instantly switch with any nearby object within a certain range. As Sasuke's mastery over the eye grew, he could also open portals in space-time and travel anywhere.

2 Hagoromo's Rinnegan

Hagoromo Otsutsuki can be considered one of the greatest, if not the greatest, Rinnegan user. He probably had the Rinnegan from the beginning. This is probably because Hagoromo was the son of Kaguya, who ate the chakra fruit.

He also had the ability to create life out of nothing, and that's an incredible ability to have. His Six Paths powers were simply unmatched by anyone else, and that's what makes him a truly phenomenal character. Out of all the Rinnegan users, he's the only one with the Kekkei Mora eye.

1 Shibai's Rinnegan

Recently, Boruto introduced fans to another Rinnegan user, Shibai Otsutsuki. In fact, this Rinnegan user might be the strongest one fans have ever seen, and that's what makes this character so intriguing. Shibai was an Otsutsuki who came to Earth millennia ago and has since ascended greatly.

For many years, he went from planet to planet consuming chakra fruits, and eventually consumed so many that he ascended to godhood. In fact, he left his mortal body behind and became something else entirely. Shibai possessed the Rinnegan, but fans don't know exactly how strong he was. That being said, given that he was a God and definitely above all the other Otsutsuki the series has introduced over the years, it can be fairly said that he may possess the strongest Rinnegan of all.
