The third season of Konosuba is finally here. With a new season comes new stories, new adventures, new silly antics, and of course, new characters too. From the shy Goddess Eris to the Crimson Demon Princess YunYun, every character that has been introduced to the series so far has been chaotic and entertaining. So, fans have a lot of expectations for this round of new characters.

Unfortunately, there aren't many new characters introduced in this third season. There are only a few new characters who actually play a major role in the story. Old characters still play a big role in this season, especially in the second half of the series. With that in mind, here are some of the new characters to watch out for in Konosuba Session 3.

5 Old characters to watch out for

Several former supporting characters make their grand return

Before we talk about the new characters, let’s first briefly discuss some familiar faces who will play important roles in the story. In the first half of Season 3, the charming thief Chris and the gallant knight Kyouya Mitsurugi will play important roles in the Kingdom of Belzerg. Chris will go on a short thief tour in the capital Belzerg, while Kyouya will be an important security detail for the Belzerg royal family.

For the second half of season 3, the despicable but sometimes hilarious nobleman named Lord Alderp Barnes Alexei will be up to all sorts of mischief that will disrupt the peaceful lives of our heroes. Another important figure is the chaotic Duke of Hell, Vanir. This time, he will play a major role in helping our heroes solve the big problem that will arise at the end of the season.

4 Maxwell

The Enslaved Archdemon

The first new character is Maxwell, the Archdemon and one of the Dukes of Hell, much like Vanir. Unlike Vanir, however, Maxwell appears meek and submissive. At least that is how he chooses to portray himself at first. When he finally gets what he wants, however, is when he finally reveals his true sinister side.

It’s hard to talk about Maxwell without getting into spoiler territory. Just know that he’ll play a pivotal role in the second half of Season 3. At the behest of a supporting character, Maxwell will place a dangerous curse on another important supporting character. His actions will force one of our heroes to make the ultimate sacrifice of his life.

3 Rain

The Gentle Bow Mage of the Kingdom of Belzerg

One of the new faces that will immediately grace the new season is Rain, the Archmage of the Kingdom of Belzerg. She is one of two loyal high-ranking officers who is always with the princess of the Kingdom of Belzerg, Iris Stylish-Sword Belzerg.

Rain comes from a humble yet noble family. She managed to rise through the ranks to become an Arch Wizard due to her skills and hard work. Her kind yet stern nature also helps her become one of Iris's most trusted retainers. In addition to being the Kingdom's Arch Wizard, Rain also teaches Iris spells in her spare time.

2 Claire Field Symphony

The Proud Knight of the Kingdom of Belzerg

Along with Rain, Claire Field Symphonia is the other trusted employee who always stands by Iris' side. She is one of the most powerful knights the Belzerg Kingdom has to offer and has always fought bravely on the front lines whenever a demonic army approaches the capital.

Claire comes from a high-ranking noble family called House Symphonia. She is well-respected in the kingdom and always appears prim and proper in front of other nobles and soldiers. But when it comes to Iris, she becomes impulsive, overprotective, and often overreacts. That's why, unlike Rain, Claire is still willing to break the rules to help Iris in her mischief.

1 Iris Stylish-Belzerg Sword

The Lovely Princess of the Kingdom of Belzerg

Iris Stylish-Sword Belzerg is the first princess of the Belzerg Kingdom. As a member of the royal family, Iris always tries her best to appear confident and dignified. In reality, she is a shy girl full of wonder and curiosity. In fact, the main reason she invites Kazuma and his party to the capital is because she wants to hear Kazuma's adventure stories.

There is nothing else in this world that Iris wants to do other than explore the world and play like a normal girl her age. However, despite her young age, Iris is well aware of her position and her responsibilities towards her people. That is why no matter how difficult it gets, Iris will always stand firm and face every challenge head on.

Whether it's the Demon King's army's attempted invasion or petty criminals disturbing the people of the capital, Iris will do whatever she can to find the best solution for her people. This is why those close to her, such as Rain and Claire, are extremely loyal to Iris. This is also why Iris is loved by her people.
