Keanu Reeves' anime finally reveals more details

During the San Diego International Comic Convention, more information was revealed about the upcoming anime adaptation of the comic book written by Keanu Reeves and Matt Kindt“BRZRKR“. The statement listed that Mattson Tomlin (Batman, Terminator ZERO) will serve as showrunner, and production will begin in Fall 2024 (October to December)with two seasons planned so far for the studies Production GI.
It is worth remembering that Netflix announced the acquisition of the rights to this work and the production of a live-action feature film adaptation and an anime series starting in March 2021. Reeves will produce and star in the film., while he will also be a voice actor in the anime. Stephen Christy, president of Boom! Studios, commented on the matter:
- «We all have a very special place in our hearts for the Animatrix“, he says. «So when we were lucky enough to have the opportunity to collaborate with Netflix on the film, we didn't just want to make a film. We wanted to make an anime for adults. Having Mattson (Tomlin), who's doing Terminator as you mentioned... I think we hope to have the opportunity to go to some of the worlds that are seen in the comics, in the specials... and hopefully that pays homage to the anime that we love as fans.».

Reeves co-writes the comic with Matt Kindtand is produced in collaboration with Ross Richie and Stephen Christy at the publisher BOOM! Studios, while Stephen Gamel of Company films participation is also credited Adam Yoelin also of BOOM!. The first volume of a total of twelve was released by the aforementioned publisher in March 2021. On the other hand, the animated adaptation will seek to expand the universe of the original work by exploring elements presented in the comics.
