During a special event it was announced that the second season from the anime adaptation of the manga “Kaiju #8”It will premiere in 2025 in Japan. The first season of the anime aired during the Spring 2024 (April to June) and had a total of twelve episodes. Kaiju #8 Synopsis

Grotesque, Godzilla-like monsters called “kaijuu” have been appearing in Japan for many years. To combat these beasts, an elite military unit known as the Defense Corps risks their lives daily to protect civilians. After a creature dies, “sweepers” working for the Kaijuu Professional Cleaning Corporation are tasked with disposing of its remains. Kafka Hibino, a 32-year-old man, is not satisfied with his job as a sweeper. From a young age, he aspired to join the Defense Corps and make a living killing kaijuu.

However, after a few failed attempts, he abandoned his dreams and resigned himself to the mediocrity that provided him with a decent salary. However, when an ambitious 18-year-old recruit named Leno Ichikawa joins his cleaning crew, Kafka is once again reminded of his desire to join the army. After a series of unfortunate events and an interaction with the young street sweeper, Kafka encounters a parasitic kaijuu that burrows its way through his mouth, transforming him into a humanoid monster. With his new powers, Kafka intends to give his lifelong dream one last chance.
