NieR: Automata anime will return in July

On the official website of the anime adaptation of the video game “NieR: Automata“, titled as “NieR: Automata Ver1.1a“, a new promotional video for the second part of the project was revealed. The video confirms this The premiere is scheduled for next July in Japan.and shows a fragment of the opening theme titled “Black box” and interpreted by Lisa.
The first part premiered during the season of Winter-2023 (January-March) and had a total of twelve episodes, facing a large number of delays due to production problems. It should be noted that in an interview between the series' animation director Ryoji Matsuyama and the creator of the video game Yoko TarotIt was explained that this project will not be a faithful adaptation of the game, but rather a completely original story starring the iconic characters from this franchise.
Production team
- Ryouji Masuyama (Blend S, Darling in the FranXX, Inou-Battle wa Nichijou-kei no Naka de) is in charge of directing the anime at the studios Images A-1.
- Yoko Tarot (Yoshinoya Kyoudai, SINoALICE, Kimi Shi ni Tamou Koto Nakare) is responsible for writing and supervising the scripts, alongside Ryouji Masuyama.
- Jun Nakai (Re: CREATORS, Gate: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri, Gin no Saji) is responsible for character design and animation direction.
- NUN (Shangri-La Frontier, Summer Time Rendering, Aharen-san wa Hakarenai) is responsible for composing the soundtrack.

NieR: Automata Synopsis
In a post-apocalyptic world overrun by alien-created “mechanical lifeforms,” humanity prepares for its final battle. Forced to retreat to the Moon for safety, humans place their hopes in a group of artificial androids known as YoRHa soldiers. Led by the multi-purpose YoRHa battle droid 2-gou B-gata “2B,” the group will fight to take control of Earth from its invaders.
As the war against the machines intensifies, YoRHa slowly begins to see the first fragments of the truth underlying the brutal conflict. Faced with this harsh reality, the unwavering warrior 2B begins to question her own existence and the extent to which she must sacrifice herself for the good of humanity.
