A recent leak has confirmed that the manga written and illustrated by Rumiko TakahashiRanma 1/2“, will have a new anime adaptation (remake) whose details will be announced soon. Like any leak, the information is awaiting confirmation, but the source is extremely reliable.

For its part, Rumiko Takahashi The manga began publication through the magazine Weekly Shonen Sunday from the publisher Shogakukan in August 1987 and finished it in March 1996, compiling the work into a total of thirty-eight volumes. The work was adapted into an anime in April 1989 by Deen Studioand was followed by a 143-episode new adaptation in October 1989, produced by the same studio.

Ranma 1/2 Synopsis

Ranma Saotome is a top-class martial artist and prodigy of the Saotome school of martial arts, “Anything Goes.” During his training in China, he and his father face a terrible fate when they accidentally fall into a cursed spring. Now, Ranma is cursed to turn into a girl when cold water is thrown on him, and only hot water can turn him back into a boy.

Things get even more complicated when Ranma discovers that his father has arranged for him to marry one of Soun Tendo's three daughters in order to secure the future of the Tendo dojo. Although Soun knows of Ranma's situation, he remains determined to go through with the engagement and chooses his youngest daughter, Akane, who turns out to be an expert martial artist and has a reputation for hating men.
