The production of the popular video game “The Sky Burns Red” issued an official statement announcing the cancellation of the “Heaven Burns Red Information Bureau Vol. 1” live event. According to the statement, the decision was made due to threats of interference that put the safety of participants, actors and event staff at risk.

“The Sky Burns Red” is the first video game written by Jun Maeda in 15 years since his work on “Little Busters!”. Jun Maedaa renowned screenwriter in the industry, has been criticized in recent years, especially by anime “The Day I Became a God”, which did not meet fans' expectations. This failure led Maeda to temporarily close his social media accounts and likely focus his efforts on developing this video game instead of continuing with the anime production.

Because of this background, It is believed that the threats cited in the statement were not directed at the entire team, but rather directly at Maeda.. The official statement states the following:

  • Regarding “Heaven Burns Red Information Bureau Vol. 76” which was scheduled for Thursday, August 8, 2024, we have decided to cancel its live broadcast format for the reasons stated below.
  • [Reason for cancellation of live broadcast] Threatening acts that suggest interference in the live broadcast have been confirmed and, prioritizing the safety of participants, actors and event staff, we have decided to cancel the live broadcast format.
  • We deeply apologize for the inconvenience to participants wishing to participate in the live broadcast, but we appreciate your understanding. To prevent these criminal acts from occurring in the future, we will work closely with the police and take legal action to resolve this matter.

The community of “The Sky Burns Red” showed his support Jun Maeda and the production team, understanding the severity of the threats and the need to prioritize safety. The production is working closely with the police to take the necessary legal action and ensure that these incidents do not happen again in the future.

  • «Due to some fools, the long-awaited event was ruined (´;ω;`) I can't forgive».
  • «No matter what you think of the production, doing something that becomes a criminal act is wrong.».
  • «I thought there were disturbing posts circulating around a while ago, but… has it really come to this? When the actual harassment of a woman who attended a fan meeting and other incidents mix, these things happen.».
  • «The live broadcast was canceled… Over the past year it seemed like the players’ morale was waning, so I was worried about that.».
  • «This is the worst. Many thanks to the production team for their hard work».
  • «I think the decision is inevitable. However, to compensate those who could have participated in this live broadcast, I think priority should be given to participation in the next live broadcast.».
  • «The kids who are accusing the “Heaven Burns Red environment” without evidence quickly… There are many possibilities, such as it is an attempt at sabotage by fans of other games or it is someone who retired a long time ago and is jealous of the 2.5 anniversary enthusiasm».
  • «It's a shame for whoever got the opportunity».
  • «Threatening acts… I don’t understand what they feel when they do this, but it’s very regrettable.».
  • «It's dangerous, it makes me sad».
