THE Jujutsu Kaisen panel at Anime Expo 2024, which featured director Shota Goshozono, Itadori voice actor Junya Enoki, and MAPPA producer Keisuke Seshimo, had some interesting information to offer fans about the upcoming anime adaptation of the series.
The panel confirmed that Goshozono will return to command Jujutsu Kaisen: Selection Game Arc (Season 3) on MAPPA.
Additionally, when the director was asked about the scenes he is most excited to adapt, he mentioned Maki's scenes from the Culling Game arc.
While there are many scenes he's looking forward to bringing to the anime, Goshozono specifically singled out Maki's as his favorite.
Goshozono also expressed excitement for Yuta, Yuji, Maki, and Choso in the upcoming season, as they all have a significant role to play in the events that occur.
Manga readers understand Goshozono's enthusiasm for Maki's scenes. She undergoes significant character development and growth during the Culling Game after the Shibuya Arc.
However, the highlighted scenes from Goshozono may precede those from Culling Games, possibly referring to the mini-arc involving the Zen'in Clan.
Jujutsu Kaisen: Selection Game Arc was announced on December 28, 2023, following the airing of the final episode of season 2. A new promotional video was released alongside the announcement, however, additional details regarding cast, crew, and release date have yet to be revealed.
