Recently, the portal Dengeki Online shared the results of its Summer 2024 (July-September) Anime Popularity Survey, conducted between August 9-18. This research focused on anime that began broadcasting and distribution from July 2024 onwards, and revealed some interesting surprises, especially in the romance genre, which came in first place.
Although before the start of the summer season several romance titles already promised to dominate the scene, no one was sure which series would manage to win over the public. Among the romance anime that stood out in the predictions were 'Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian', '2.5 Dimensional Seduction', 'Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines!' and 'Senpai is an Otokonoko'. These titles not only made it into the Top 10, but also sparked a huge debate among fans about which one would take the top spot.
Finally, first place went to one of these romantic series, beating out the rest of the competition. This result not only reflects the public's taste for love stories in this summer 2024 season, but also the ability of these series to connect emotionally with viewers.
