A press release announced that the manga written and illustrated by Nikumaru“bad girl“, will have an anime adaptation. The statement did not list a scheduled release date, but revealed production details.

In turn, Nikumaru began publishing the manga through the magazine Manga Time Kirara Carat from the publisher Houbunsha in December 2020. He has written other works such as “Watashi no Onaka no Sekinin Totte!” and “Aitsu no Kanojo“, but “Bad Girl” is the first to get an anime adaptation.

Production team

• Takeshi Furuta (Nanatsu no Taizai: Imashime no Fukkatsu, Visual Prison, Mangaka-san to ANIMATION Assistant-san) is in charge of directing the anime at the studios Bridge.
• Shouji Yonemura (ONE PIECE, SHAMAN KING (2021), Nami yo Kiitekure) is responsible for writing and supervising the scripts.
• Yuuki Morimoto (Pont Qiao Booth, Kishuku Gakkou no Juliet, Cardfight!! Avant-garde Movie: Neon Messiah) is responsible for character design and animation direction.
• Alisa Okehazama (Jujutsu Kaisen, THE GOD OF SCHOOL, Kusuriya no Hitorigoto) is responsible for composing the soundtrack.

Bad Girl Synopsis

In her first year of high school, Yuu is a fervent admirer of Mayor Atori and, in order to get her attention, she starts acting like a delinquent. But although her intention is to attract people with her “evil” and “coolness”, her simple-minded facade is discovered by Atori, who mocks her and treats her like a little animal…? A four-panel manga about the school life of a not-so-evil delinquent!
