One piece Episode 1071 finally revealed Monkey D. Luffy's long-awaited power-up, but the battle with Kaido is set to continue - the promo for the next episode has just given fans a glimpse at how exactly Gear 5 will help Luffy win.

One piece, Based on the manga of the same name by Eiichiro Oda, has been building up to Luffy's Gear 5 for some time now and it's finally here. The teaser for episode 1072 titled "The Ridiculous Power! Gear Five in Full Play" has just dropped on YouTube, showing off what viewers can expect from the upcoming episode, which premieres this Sunday.

The promo reveals that Luffy will further explore his Gear 5 upgrade as he learns how to use his new abilities to their fullest in his fight against Kaido.

“The new experience that defies logic. The earth becomes bouncy and all his techniques are bizarre. Is he a god or Luffy or something else? The comical scene is enough to make your eyes pop out of your head. Attention, everyone! This is his peak,” the teaser promises the public.

The team at Toei Animation definitely had to go above and beyond for Episode 1072, as it appears to feature complex graphics that go beyond anything they've ever seen before. One piece fans have already seen. Viewers are clearly in awe of the next-level animation, as they cheer and thank the people who worked on it, saying it was all worth it.

Luffy's Gear 5 Update

In the previous episode, Luffy finally reached Gear 5, the upgrade fans had been waiting for since at least 2016, and unlocked new levels of his powers, given to him by his unique type of Devil Fruit.

The audience learned what the true potential of the Gomu Gomu no Mi was and a bit of the history behind the mysterious nature of the fruit.

In the next episode, Luffy's abilities will reportedly become even more savage – eagle-eyed fans may have noticed that the character will be recovering. As the battle with Kaido intensifies, the stakes will rise.

Episode 1072 will see the opponents going above and beyond in their attempt to win – so much so that the earth will appear to bounce and move all over the place. Luffy will have to use “bizarre” techniques and think outside the box if he truly wants to reign victorious.

One piece Episode 1072, featuring Luffy's Gear 5 "in full play" as he attempts to overpower his arch-nemesis Kaido, will be available to stream on Crunchyroll and other platforms on August 13.
