One of the best couple dynamics is the Battle Couple. Power couples don't have to come in power suits, the best power couples embody the idea that the couple that fights together stays together. They don't stop each other from watching their loved one get hurt, they just draw their swords, stand back to back and get straight to the point.

Seras is wonderful because she is a Draculina vampire saved by Alucard who helps him fight other vampires. She begins her relationship with Pip by challenging him to a duel, and it doesn't take long for him to fall in love with the vampire. Pip may not be the most chivalrous character, but he gladly fights alongside Seras.

Sango and Miroku are more believable as a couple when they fight demons together in Inu Yasha. Sango fights with Miroku as much as she fights alongside him. She is a fierce woman who doesn't take any nonsense from anyone – especially not the guy she has a crush on.

Sometimes a battle couple must fight each other, even when fighting evil creatures. Miroku respects Sango in a truly unique way. Sango admires him as a person who drains his own life force to protect others in battle with his cursed hand.

Miyu's status as a vampire isolates her in Vampire Princess Miyu. Most people forget about her – that is, until Larva enters her life. He invades trying to kill her first, but they each have something to offer each other.

Immortality is a heavy burden for Miyu, and Larva is very protective of her, referring to himself as her spiritual servant. In return, Miyu protects Larva and has her own offensive abilities. Their romance is left to subtext and is not technically confirmed, but there is strong evidence pointing to romantic love.

Even the most talented warriors need reassurance sometimes, as Zoisite does in Sailor Moon. The stakes are high for the Dark Kingdom cohorts and their missions. If Zoisite fails, he is destined for an eternal slumber from which he will never awaken.

In the 1990s anime, Zoisite and Kunzite are in love with each other. Kunzite may seem cold, and he is the most powerful of the Shitennou, but he has a soft spot for his sweet Zoisite. Zoisite is a cunning villain and Kunzite would happily stand between him and danger, even if it meant rebelling against his own team.

Guts and Casca first meet when they are fighting each other in berserk. Casca tries to warn her companions against fighting the lone warrior on the road, but after Guts makes quick work of them, Griffith insists that Casca fight him. It comes as a shock to Guts when he rips off Casca's helmet and realizes that she is a woman, but he continues to fight her anyway.

Casca is most annoyed by Guts's carefree attitude on the battlefield, but she is there to help him. One of the best parts of Guts and Casca's romance is how they understand each other as warriors. And while Guts wants revenge, he won't put his battles before Casca's well-being.

Trevor meets Sypha when he saves her from a demon that turned her to stone in Castlevania. Sypha may have needed some help, as even the best warriors sometimes do, but she is by no means Castlevaniathe damsel in distress.

And Trevor may look like a disillusioned drunk, but he knows how to organize a battle when the day calls for it.

Trevor is incredibly brave and knowledgeable about wild creatures because of his family history. Sypha is also very knowledgeable as a speaker.

They bond beautifully in battle. After dealing with Dracula, they fight off the Night Creatures with the efficiency of a weekly grocery store. And in the season finale, when Sypha needs to use her magic, Trevor holds her down with his own body so she can do what she needs to do.

San and Ashitaka start out as enemies, in a way, in Princess Mononoke. The hatred is entirely one-sided. San is suspicious of Ashitaka and sees his interference on her behalf as a threat to her goal of protecting the forest. San has every right to defend her world, but Ashitaka wants to find a way to stand with her instead of against her.

It isn’t until Ashitaka and San take turns saving each other in battle that they begin to truly understand and appreciate each other. In the end, they find a way to fight the good fight together. They each have strengths and weaknesses, and they complement each other in this way, each making the other better.

There is no open confirmation that Roy Mustang and Riza Hawkeye's relationship is romantic at all. Fullmetal Alchemist. But they are still one of the best battle couples anime has to offer. Roy hides his true intentions behind a lazy playboy facade, but Riza sees his true self.

And while Roy enjoys playing, he doesn't play with respect for Riza. They are a formidable force to face. And just as they would follow and defend each other in any battle, they also care about maintaining their integrity as warriors together.

Hak is also called the Lightning Beast in Yona of the Dawn. Yona is the young, naive princess he grew up with and now protects with his life and service. Even when the entire world seems to turn against Yona, Hak will happily stand alone to protect her against any force.

It doesn't take long, however, before Yona wants to learn how to defend herself. and Hak. Hak hates the idea at first, but overcomes his need to protect her (and his slight tendency to underestimate her). Not only does Yona prove him wrong, Hak shows up and trains her as well.
