This week the anime adaptation of “2.5 Dimensional Seduction (2.5-jigen on Ririsa)”, a story focused on cosplay. The story revolves around Okumura, the president of his school's Manga Club, who meets Ririsa, a girl interested in cosplay who decides to join the club. Eventually Okumura becomes her photographer and discovers that Ririsa likes to dress up as the character he loves so much. Could this help him finally make the leap from 2D to 3D?

As we previously reported, the otaku community was interested in the proposal of this series due to the cosplay theme that reminds us of “Sleep Doll Bisque wa Koi wo Suru (My dear dress up)”. In fact, since the latter has a sequel announced but hasn’t announced any further details in years, fans have taken to calling this new protagonist “Successor/rival of Marin Kitagawa“.

And with the premiere of the first episode, you finally have an idea of what to expect from this series in the future. Furthermore, “2.5 Dimensional Seduction” is confirmed with a total of twenty-four episodes, so there will be plenty of time (unlike “Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru”) to enjoy this new proposal.

And of course, the opinions of Japanese fans didn't take long:

  • «Well, it might be a good anime since it doesn't have those white lights.».
  • «The presentation is different and made me laugh».
  • «Are you without underwear?».
  • «If I had a girl this close, I would be scared».
  • «Just like “My Dress-Up Darling”, there’s not enough credibility in a girl falling in love with an eroge for otakus.».
  • «In this case, she is not a girl, just an otaku girl.».
  • «I wonder how they're going to hide the scene in the manga where the breasts are visible».
  • «It seems he is straying from the manga club activities.».
  • «Cosplayers I'm interested in usually work in girls' bars.».
  • «Cosmetic surgery, beauty treatments and quality clothing cost money».
  • «Is the author a virgin?».
  • «This girl is a little crazy. I can't believe it's a true story».
  • «Lots of fanservice scenes in the first episode, which is good. But it will inevitably be compared to “My Dress-Up Darling”».
  • «The story in “My Dress-Up Darling” is better structured».
  • «They also do a good job of creating cosplay.».
  • «They cut almost all the erotic content from the manga».
  • «They said this would be the next “My Dress-Up Darling,” but they look nothing alike.».
  • «Now I understand that what “My Dress-Up Darling” was holding was Gojo-kun.».
  • «I stopped reading the original manga because the drawing was so bad, but the anime is quite watchable.».
  • «I think “My Dress-Up Darling” is very intense.».
  • «It seems that few people here know about the cosplay events that happen every month.».
  • «They said it would be the next “My Dress-Up Darling”, but it only shares the cosplay element, it’s not the same thing. It’s more for gentlemen.».
  • «It's a manga that has overcome its initial bad reputation with erotic content, so it will likely continue to emphasize that in the anime.».
