The illustrator Tetsuhiro Nabeshimaresponsible for light novels, and Kazuki Satouresponsible for the manga adaptation, shared a special illustration to celebrate this announcement.

On the other hand, Shigeru Sagazaki began publishing the story through the independent service in November 2020, and then the publisher Square Enix began its publication on paper with illustrations by Tetsuhiro Nabeshima in April 2021. A manga adaptation of Kazuki Satou is published by the magazine Dokodemo Young Champion from the publisher Akita Shoten in August 2021.

Synopsis of From Old Countryman to Sword Master

Beryl Gardinant, a self-proclaimed “humble old man,” is a sword instructor at his dojo in a rural, backwater town. In his youth, he dreamed of achieving glory as a master swordsman, but those days are long behind him.
