“Jujutsu Kaisen” continues to make its mark on popular culture around the world. This time, the popular anime television series has inspired a real-life international police force to recreate its most iconic anime opening theme.

Peru's National Police have uploaded a new video to TikTok of their air force preparing to take to the skies. While this may seem like an honorable but common premise for a government account, it is the song selection that is causing this social media clip to go viral. The video features the song “SPECIALZ” by King Gnu, the song used in the opening of the second season of “Jujutsu Kaisen” during the “Shibuya Incident Arc”.

«Guardian angels from the skies of Peru, contributing to the development of our country», says the official TikTok account of the Peruvian Police. The video has a staging similar to the opening of the anime “Jujutsu Kaisen”, as the military pilots are seen walking dramatically and stylistically like the characters from the anime. The reaction to the TikTok video was mostly positive from the anime community. This is the kind of propaganda we need“, replied one fan. “Absolute cinema 10/10“said another. A fan responded with the hilarious comment: “We have an arrest warrant for a certain Ryomen Sukuna».

This isn't the first time that the opening of the second season of the anime “Jujutsu Kaisen” has inspired an unexpected remake in real life. Given the incredible popularity of the anime “Jujutsu Kaisen” -to the point that Guinness World Records declared it the most sought-after anime series of 2023-, It's no wonder so many fans and companies are turning to Gege Akutami's story for a shot at online stardom. Anime like the second season of “Mashle: Magic and Muscles” and “Oshi no Ko” prove that a viral theme song can elevate a series’ existence in today’s saturated anime market.
