The popular illustrator and VTuber Ui Shigure is celebrating its fifth anniversary of activities with a special exhibition in Japan, which left everyone surprised. One of the most notable elements of this event is a huge statue, described as “life-size”, but which the VTuber herself pointed out is much larger than her. Made of resin and other dense materials, the statue weighs more than 40 kilograms, making it an impressive centerpiece of the exhibition.
However, what really caught fans' attention is what will happen to the statue after the event. Ui Shigure commented that neither she nor her planning team knew what to do with such a large piece, so they decided to put it up for sale for 5.55 million yen (approximately $38,000), with the main purpose of getting rid of it.. The VTuber explained that the statue was not made with the intention of being sold, but simply as an exhibition, and that the high price only covers the production costs, without generating profits.

What surprised both the community and Ui Shigure herself is that the statue sold quickly despite the high price. The product description states that it measures over three feet tall and is made from high-quality materials such as acrylic resin, FRP, and iron.
The community’s reaction was immediate, generating comments that reflected both surprise and admiration for the buyer. Some of the notable comments included:
- «Who is the person who bought 5.55 million yen worth? Ha ha ha».
- «I don't know who bought the statue, but if he did it because he likes Ui-sensei, then knowing that Ui-sensei might be scared when he finds out would be the greatest reward.».
- «What surprises me is not that it was sold, but that this price is just the cost of production.».
- «Ui-mama, who is more excited than usual at the exhibition, is just too adorable».
- «The buyer of the 5.55 million will become news in a few months as 'The man who married Shigure Ui».
- «I can say with certainty that whoever bought it is a true hero.».
- «It's surprising that it sold out, but how is it that limited autograph products, which cost between 200,000 and 700,000 yen, were almost completely sold out on the first day? How lucky are millionaires?».
- «Go to the exhibition and think: 'Is this for sale? Then I'll buy it!' It's very powerful.».
- «It's amazing that it was sold.».
- «It looks like it was a cost price and a unique piece, so perhaps keeping it as an investment for the future is a good idea… Congratulations to the buyer!».
- «Why did you think it wouldn't sell?».
- «A donation of 5.55 million yen… I can’t compete with that».
These comments reflect the community's surprise, admiration, and sense of humor at the sale of the statue and the devotion of the buyer.
