On the official website for the anime adaptation of the light novels “Kimi to Boku no Saigo no Senjou, Aruiwa Sekai ga Hajimaru Seisen (KimiSen: Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World)”, it was announced that the issuance of the second season has been suspended indefinitely due to production problems.

Although the statement states that “it is to guarantee and maintain the quality of the content”, this is a common speech to avoid saying that there are problems within the production, whether due to the schedule or lack of personnel. Furthermore, considering that the production comes from SILVER LINK, a studio that has seen failure after failure lately, there is not much to discuss.

Consequently, starting next August 7th (when episode 5 of this second season would be broadcast), episodes of the first season will begin to be broadcast on television in Japan. This will continue week after week until September 25, when the summer-2024 period (July-September) ends, which means that the production does not estimate having the episodes ready in the short term.

In fact, the statement itself confirms that the broadcast dates for the remaining episodes have not yet been defined, but that the plan is to move the entire season to a new period (Winter, Spring, Summer or Autumn). More information will be announced in future communications, but SILVER LINK has definitely been nothing more than disappointment after disappointment, a study concluded.

Synopsis of KimiSen: Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World

A force known as astral power spreads throughout the world, wielded by astral magicians. Fearing its destructive power, the “Empire” persecutes those who demonstrate its abilities. The tormented magicians then found the Sovereignty of Nebulis to escape their oppressors. Since then, the two nations have been in bitter conflict, and the war has continued for over a century. After committing the great crime of freeing an imprisoned witch, the talented knight Iska is sentenced to prison.

A year later, the leaders of the Empire suddenly decide to release him, on the condition that he hunt down a fearsome magician known as the “Witch of the Ice Calamity.” Hoping to end the war, Iska agrees. Coincidentally, the Witch of the Ice Calamity herself, Aliceliese “Alice” Lou Nebulis XI, also desires peace and is willing to do whatever she can to bring down the Empire. As Iska and Alice yearn for a crusade that will transform the world into one without conflict, misfortune, or pain, the threads of fate draw them together, creating a bond that goes beyond mere coincidence.
