Shangri-La Frontier Synopsis

High school student Rakurou Hizutome has a peculiar hobby of playing poorly made games: games that are either unbalanced or full of bugs that make them nearly unplayable. The few who share his hobby may recognize him by his in-game name, Sunraku. For his next game, Rakurou recommends Shangri-La Frontier, a popular and well-received virtual reality game, as a break from the terrible games he’s been playing lately.

As the game begins, Rakurou decides to sell most of his starting equipment to earn extra money, leaving him with only a pair of boxers, a bird mask, and a few weapons. He is instantly hooked and meticulously levels up his avatar. However, after facing some intimidating monsters, he realizes that he may have underestimated the challenge that a regular game can offer. As Rakurou progresses, he must make use of all the skills he has honed from his previous gaming experiences. Before long, Sunraku’s eccentric playstyle takes over Shangri-La Frontier.
