The manga “Shingeki no Kyojin”, written and illustrated by Hajime Isayama, began its serialization in September 2009 and concluded in April 2021, accumulating a total of 141 chapters and thirty-four compilation volumes. On September 9th, the day that marks 15 years since the release of the first chapter of the series, a new project related to the franchise will be announced.

However, it has not yet been specified whether it will be a new manga, a light novel or something completely different. It has also not been revealed who will be the author responsible for this new project, which has generated great expectations among fans. Throughout its history, Shingeki no Kyojin has given rise to several spin-offssuch as “Shingeki! Kyojin Chuugakkou” (Attack on Titan: Junior High), written by Saki Nakagawa, as well as several series of novels written by different authors besides Isayama.

Some fans expressed hope that this new project would offer an alternate ending to the series, as not everyone was satisfied with the original conclusion. Others wanted the new story to focus on the Great Titan War, a conflict that occurred after Ymir awakened her powers as the Founding Titan. However, there was no shortage of more realistic followers, suggesting that the announcement could be another piece, an art book or something less related to the main story.
