A recent massive leak has ensured that studies CloverWorks will resume production on the anime adaptation of “Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru (My dear dress up)” with a second seasonafter completing the transmission of “Nige Jouzu no Wakagimi (The Elusive Samurai)”, which will possibly also have a second season. It should be noted that this information comes from a source in China, so it is not confirmed in any way at this time.

The above also implies that the so-called “sequel project” of the franchise would be a second season and not a movie as expected.

The anime adaptation premiered in Winter-2022 (January-March) and had a total of twelve episodes, while the Crunchyroll and Funimation platforms are responsible for its distribution in the West, also with dubbing into Latin Spanish. In turn, Shinichi Fukuda publish the manga in the magazine Young Gangan from the publisher Square Enix since January 2018. A sequel project to the anime adaptation is in production.

Synopsis of Sono Doll Bisque wa Koi wo Suru

Involved in the family business of making traditional dolls, Wakana Gojou is a reserved first-year high school student with no friends. Painfully reminded of a childhood friend’s disdain for his interest, Gojou finds it hard to connect with his peers and their hobbies, and ends up isolating himself. Gojou has yet to perfect the art of making doll faces, but he is exceptionally skilled at making their clothes. His skill with the sewing machine is soon discovered by his beautiful classmate Marin Kitagawa, whose boldness and honesty Gojou admires and envies. She instantly shares her own hobby with Gojou: she enjoys dressing up as erotic video game characters.

However, Kitagawa doesn’t know how to sew her own costumes, which leads her to seek out Gojou’s expertise. Being drawn into the adorable girl’s endless cosplay adventures, Kitagawa becomes her first fully accepting friend. Thus, despite being polar opposites, their relationship slowly blossoms thanks to their ability to help each other navigate the intricate world of cosplay.
