Through his official Twitter account, voice actor Toru Furuya admitted that a recent Japanese media report Bunshun Online was right when it arrived the issue that he had an unfaithful relationship with one of his fans.

Furuya, who is recognized for a career in the voice acting industry spanning more than 50 years, admitted that he had been in a romantic relationship with a fan for four and a half years, until ending it in September 2023. The voice actor noted that he became very interested in a fan who had supported him for years and who contacted her directly to start an unfaithful relationship.

Furthermore, Furuya also admitted that they once had an argument which led to him using force against her, and that he even got her pregnant, although this was cut short because he forced her to have an abortion. Finally, Furuya apologized to this woman for causing her physical and psychological harm, as well as apologizing to his fans for disappointing them, betraying their trust, and tarnishing the prestige of the characters he has played so far.

Furuya concluded by saying that he will spend the rest of his life trying to make amends for the damage he caused, and that he is willing to pay the consequences of his actions. Furthermore, Furuya has an incredible track record in the voice acting industry, including roles such as Amuro Ray from “Mobile Suit Gundam“, Mamoru Chiba from “sailor moon“, Tooru Amuro from “Detective Conan“Seiya Pegasus”Saint Seiya“, and Yamcha from“dragon ball“, Just to mention a few.

As to whether this statement will cause problems, the curious thing is that it is very likely to be forgotten very soon. Many of the voice actors who have admitted to infidelities have walked away without any problems or stains on their reputation, unlike when it comes to a voice actress.
