Train to the End of the World Suspended Due to Problems

On the official website of the original anime by the director of “Girls and Panzer” and “Shirobako“,“Train until the end of the world (Shuumatsu trains Doko and Iku?)”, it was reported that the final episode will be delayed by a week due to production issues. Consequently, episode 12, which was scheduled to air on June 17, will now air until June 24.

It is worth remembering that director Tsutomu Mizushima reported since the beginning of the broadcast, in April 2024, that the production had already been experiencing problems since then. According to the report, when the broadcast began they had not even produced the fourth episode, which already predicted future crises.

This project was announced in commemoration of the anniversary of “Railway Day (鉄道の日)”, which commemorates the date in 1872 when Shimbashi was connected to Yokohama by rail. The Railway Festival aims to raise awareness of railway safety, but more broadly it functions as an event where adults and children can learn more about trains and the railway network.

Synopsis of Train to the End of the World

A certain town on the outskirts. This was no ordinary country town. The residents were experiencing a strange phenomenon. But even so, Shizuru Chikura felt a strong desire. He wanted to see his missing friends again. Shizuru and his friends venture into the outside world, taking an abandoned and stopped train, not knowing if they will make it back alive. What awaits them at the last stop of this moving doomsday train?
