He joins forces with several partners in the hopes of revitalizing the film industry.<\/p>\n<p>Through Comic Natalie, <strong>MAPPA has joined a group of production partners that will support K2 Pictures in producing a live-action film aimed at the global market.<\/strong> K2 Pictures is a company focused on film and video, with renowned Japanese filmmakers such as <strong>Hirokazu Koreeda<\/strong>, <strong>Shunji Iwai<\/strong>, <strong>Kazuya Shiraishi<\/strong>, <strong>Miwa Nishikawa<\/strong> and <strong>Takashi Miike<\/strong> supporting the cause with MAPPA.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"689\" src=\"http:\/\/animangeek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/106\/2024\/05\/MAPPA-quer-produzir-filmes-live-action.png\" alt=\"MAPA\" class=\"wp-image-329537\"  \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>Film producer Muneyuki Kii founded K2 Pictures in August 2023, whose stated goals are to \u201c<em><strong>create a new ecosystem for Japanese cinema<\/strong><\/em>\u00bb, <strong>end the alleged stagnation of the industry<\/strong>, <strong>adequately return profits to filmmakers<\/strong>, <strong>increase film financing and allow new investors to enter the national and foreign markets<\/strong>. As a partner, MAPPA issued the following statement: \u00ab<em>We are participating in this project with the hope of supporting K2 Pictures in their challenges. We would like to do our best as a film production partner, while also thinking our best as an animation studio.<\/em>\u00bb. The studio&#039;s involvement is another example of the vision of MAPPA CEO Manabu Otsuka, who stated that the studio needed to diversify beyond mere animation in order to survive. <strong>In addition to producing live-action films, MAPPA is now dedicated to copyright and event management.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>These problems do not only affect the Japanese film industry. <strong>Makoto Kimura, a former MAPPA board member who produced \u201cChainsaw Man\u201d and transformed the studio\u2019s copyright department, noted that many of these issues also affect the anime industry. <\/strong>Revealing how MAPPA acquired 100%&#039;s rights to the &quot;Chainsaw Man&quot; anime, Kimura stated that most other studios lacked the experience to obtain financing, highlighting vehicles such as bridge financing and the Cool Japan Fund. <strong>His new company, BLUE RIGHTS, aims to address these issues and return profits appropriately to anime creators, many of whom point to severe undercompensation.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It&#039;s worth noting that Hirokazu Koreeda&#039;s involvement in K2 Pictures follows his statement last month alongside &quot;Godzilla Minus One&quot; director Takashi Yamazaki. <strong>Both addressed the Prime Minister of Japan directly and called for increased investment from both the public and private sectors, a review of current profit structures, possible exploitation of contracts, etc.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Source: <strong><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/natalie.mu\/comic\/news\/572701\">Natalie in comics<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>    (tagsToTranslate)MAPPA<br \/>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MAPPA, the popular studio behind anime hits like \u201cJujutsu Kaisen,\u201d \u201cShingeki no Kyojin,\u201d and \u201cChainsaw Man,\u201d is making a surprise foray into the live-action production business.
