The two Shonen Jump leakers face possible prison sentences following their recent trial for leaking chapters of the Shonen Jump manga before the official release date. The verdict is expected on July 25, 2024.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors are seeking a sentence of 1.5 years in prison for company manager Musa Samir and 1 year for his assistant. The prosecution has also requested hefty fines (reportedly 500,000 yen and 300,000 yen) for both individuals and their company.<\/p>\n

The defense asked for a suspended sentence, claiming the men were tricked into leaking the chapters by a foreign individual, DBS Hype, who promised to promote his company in exchange for the leaks.<\/p>\n

However, the defense claimed that this promise was never fulfilled and that the men apparently received no financial gain.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, it was also revealed that there were leaks of Kagurabachi<\/em><\/strong>, Sakamoto Days<\/em><\/strong> and Eden Zero<\/em><\/strong> are now part of the investigation.<\/p>\n

The manager and the employee, both French citizens, were arrested on February 4, 2024.<\/p>\n

Kumamoto police revealed that Samir's company is involved in dealings with Jump and related products and that they obtained the copy of Jump before its release to sell at their own company.<\/p>\n

In some cases, scanned images were modified to appear as if they were not scanned from a print magazine, but publishers confirmed that no electronic data was leaked.<\/p>\n

According to police, the leaked images were translated into several foreign languages, including English, and republished on several websites.<\/p>\n
